The negative terminal paddle on the right side of my nitecore d4 just died. I’m not in trouble per se as I’ve still got my xtar dragon which is also 4 slot.
I haven’t kept up on chargers though. What’s considered good atm? Might want to go 18650/21700 unless 21700s aren’t looking like they’re going to take over anymore.

Any suggestions on what to get? It sounds like I need to look at some mooch reviews but I thought I’d ask.

SkyRC MC3000 is a truly dependable charger @bombastinator.

It's not cheap by any means, but it certainly defines you get what you pay for. As it does a lot compared with other chargers and the build quality/electronics are top notch.

Upgraded to one myself from a Nitecore SC4 and it's just night and day in comparison, can definitely recommend.

I got a multifunction charger already with the xtar dragon. Is The whole Bluetooth and pc connection thing worth the extra Benjamin? It would mean holding off on a new computer for a while. My finances took a big hit with the stock market downturn. I am officially poor at least ftm. I’m kinda thinking about trying to take apart the d4 and repair it now. Thing lasted several years and still works fine except for the broken paddle.

@bombastinator, I hear you there my friend. It works, but a wearing component failed.

So if you can fix it, definitely do so.

Haven't tried the PC link, but the Bluetooth definitely works.

It's the more advanced thing it does, such as charge - discharge (to test capacity and for storage), termination in mA, voltage termination that you can set and upto 3A charge for all for bays (from 0.05A - 3.00A in 0.01A increments).

It truly is a great charger, but we definitely agree it is dammed expensive.

Bay springs are the number one failure in the chargers I have owned. Electronics have been pretty reliable. Efest LUC4 is still going after several years, Nitecore i4 still works, as well as my Xtar VC4 and Zanflare C4. Currently, I'm using the MiBoxer C4 as my daily charger.

The MiBoxer C4 has the best display of any of my 4 bay chargers. Its internal resistance reading is stable and repeatable, unlike others that I have used. Of course, the only reliable IR reading is one you obtain with a resistor and a voltmeter.
