BUT MY CYCLONE DID!

I had to take a break from writing up my classified ad for my Provari to put this post up. A changed man I am. Sure, it's not the RM2. But you know what? I'm ok with that. This was an amazing step up for me, and the RM2 will just be another amazing step up. Why not make 2 great epiphanies with it?

a 10/9 wrap of 28 ga Kanthal, metering out to 1.1 ohms. 1/16" drill bit for the core, CVS brand sterile rolled cotton. Is making deliciousness out of e-pipemods Oak Barrel Cider right now.

I'd like to thank all of you guys for helping me get here, the amazing camaraderie, and of course the CS and mod from Rob. Still waiting on that RM2 though.. :)

Where did you get it from? How hard is it to build (looks simple) what is the performance in comparison to the RM2? Last, any chance of shorting or damaging the REO like the A7 (or so I've heard)? Just curious.

Is your bottle hard to Squonk? It looks like you have your wire in the bottom hole of center post. It's for juice and top hole is for the wire. Be careful not to lose that set screw when you back it out enough to clear the hole. I'm rocking two cyclones now and love them. The RM2 rocks too but I think I prefer the Cyclones just a bit more. To me they look a little better and being all SS they are sturdier. My mods have a rough life with me at work and all. Rob did a great job converting the attys for our use, I wish he could make one from scratch, I know they would be perfect.

I just got a cyclone yesterday & it's really nice. I drilled the air hole out & the allen screws are gonna be replaced w/phillips head, but it vapes really nice. And I like that the small pool of juice left after a squonk allows me several more hits per squeeze. This RDA is bonified & Foghawg approved! (that & a quarter will get you about 1 ml of nic base) - I like it a lot.

I'll preface this by saying that my first RM2 doesnt come in until tomorrow.

This is the first atty I've had on my reo, so I dont have a gauge, but it does seem a little more difficult that I thought. My thinking was that if I put the wire in the bottom hole, the juice would try to come out the top hole, ensuring that it hit the wick better. Also, the coil lines up better with the air hole for full contact if you use the bottom hole for your wire.

It was incredibly easy to build, and I really like that the top cap is set by o-rings, not threading.

This is made for a bottom feeder, and I've seen many a picture of Cyclones on Reos with no shorting issues.

The first thing I'll probably do with this is get philips screws for these damn set screws... this allen wrench is smaller than the drill bit I wrap coils on!

Hysterical...I love it! Sounds just like the day after I took my grand to work for the first time. I couldn't sell everything I had fast enough to get a multimeter and a second reo.

That cyclone looks nice, I may have to get one of those too. Why wouldn't I need 3 back up rbas?

Awesome and congrats on the cyclone. It's all I've used on the reo thus far. how is using the bottom hole for your wire working out? is the juice bypassing the first hole alright and going up to the top hole?

It's a little bit of half and half. And as well as it's working right now, I might rebuild it tomorrow and try the standard method. Or just move the coil. But that would make sense, right?
......
Nah, making sense is not cool. Gonna rebuild it. What good is Kanthal if its just sitting around?

yep, might as well make a new one. That one is used! :D

Nice mod also, I almost went with the same in mini 2.1. The Steelers fan in me almost won out.

I find using the top hole it's easier to make my coil line up. If you notice when you're done wrapping the coil one leg is coming off the top side and the other the bottom side. If they are oriented wrong you can put them in the backside of the posts or wrap your coil the opposite direction to get them right. I started wrapping them "left handed" because I have my atty oriented the way I like and didn't want to tighten it another half turn. I also have the coil going slightly down hill on the center post side. I have the tail going around that way and the end tucked in between the posts on the back side. I might have to bust out the camera and laptop so I can get a few good pics. My ipad doesn't do very good ones.

I have hornets for my minis and they have the same type post config. Both hornets screw on a bit differently for lining things up. My coils do not end up on the same side for an optimal vape. So I wrap one coil starting from a top over wrap and the coil for the other gets wrapped bottom under first wrap. That way the leg that goes in the middle post for the juice hole comes out on the top of the coil for each one leaving the coil and tail of wick right at the juice hole. I also use a toothpick to tuck the wick close to the post.

In theory, if the bottom hole is used for the wire, the top hole wouldn't work for juice to exit. With the wire on bottom, the screw would have to screw down past the top hole to tighten on the wire & would block the top hole. Unless there is something that I'm missing or the screw threads are so loose that juice squeezes by them.

Oak Barrel Cider

Awesome! I'm enjoying some right now in an adjustable air flow atty with a .7 micro & rolled cotton, 6mg though on this atty, my norm is 18mg.

Matt's Pipe Sauces are some of the best kept secrepts around, I love them. I've got Grandpa's Cough Medicine in my Mini 2.1 & Sweet Georgia Peach in my VV Grand. GCM is my absolute favorite of anything so far, didn't like it at first but now it's the only juice I buy in 100ml bottles. My second favorite is AVE's Havana Gold which is in my Grand.

Funny, I can't stand GCM. Been meaning to try Sweet Georgia Peach. Wish they sold a sampler pack. What's the flavor balance like? Could I pay/coax you to send a little bit?

I had no problem squonking with the wire in the bottom hole. I changed the coil to the top hole this morning, and theres no discernible difference in pressure required to squonk or wicking/exposure results.

Yup, I hated it at first too & lot of people do too but I love it now. That's ok, more for me. I can't explain what it is but I think a hint of anise, chai, black liquorice, etc? And I absolutely hate black liquorice. Weird cause if I use cotton the flavor I like is totally gone.

As they say taste is subjective & my taste buds are screwed up from eating extremely spicy foods often. But some say the peach is too sweet, some say it's not overpowering. I can't vape sweet juices & it's not too sweet at all for me. I can smell it more than I can taste it.

Cotton is great but I find with some juices it can mute certain flavors no matter how loose or tight I wick. I only have two juices where I experienced this though.

I wouldn't be a good juice reviewer & I seem to have different tastes. Again I can't stand sweet juices, I don't like strong tobbacos either yet all my juices are considered tobacco blends. Like Boba & Gorilla, so many people like them but they're not all that for me. I like Havanas Gold much better.

I would send you some but I'm down to just over 6ml left & it just went into my VV Grand. I've been through a few bottles of SGP now & felt like I was starting to get sick of it until I tried it in the VVG, I like it again. Not due for another yet so it'll be a month or so before I reup. They do sell a sample pack for $20, the other flavors are too "leafy" for me.

It's all good, I'll just wait till I get low on Oak Barrel Cider then give SGP a shot. I've got plenty of juice around here anyway. The Plume Room was very good to me, I've got about 90ml of their juices right now, 100ml if you count the samples they sent.

Side note, my RM2 got in today! And as easy as this is to set up, I may end up back on my Cyclone once I drill out the airhole on it, just due to aesthetics. The RM2 has a perfect draw to me and if the Cyclone matched it I can't see myself with much else. Not to say the RM2 isn't amazing though, because it is. I may have to get another Reo just so I have something to sit it on all the time... *vape budget hands*...

Yes there's nothing wrong with using the bottom hole for the wire & the juice hole, just saying the top hole can't flow juice that way. Doesn't really matter.

When one hole is higher on the other & they don't line up with the way you wrap, mounting the coil on the other side of the posts will allow better orientation assuming your atty will line up the way you want it using the other side. Another way is to wrap the coils in the reverse direction.

Here's an example, if you look closely I wraped the two coils with opposite directions, one wrapped over & the other under. So when mounted on the atty they line up better rather than with two coils that were wraped exactly the same.
