So... Those of you that feel vaping is becoming WAY too complicated... What do YOU use?

-If your not into reading a lot, just skip to the questions in the bolt print at the bottom of this post-

I just saw a thread where someone was like "WOAH! The new leo dripping rebuildable atomizer is supposed to be REALLY GREAT for TASTE!" he wasn't talking about vapor production, wasn't talking about airy draw or throat hit... He literally said that he believed the new "Leo rba" was going to be great for "TASTE" which... OK... If thats true, great! THEN, someone chimed in and they go "Yeah its gonna be great! Just keep in mind, you have to use NO resistance wire, then resistance wire, then NO resistance wire in it, like the Penelope, otherwise, its not going to work" which, fine, if thats what you want...

But, after reading that post and then that response... I couldn't help but think "wow... people are getting REALLY picky. WOW" lol. I mean, we really are getting REALLY picky. Some of us won't even buy a rba atomizer that costs under 150 dollars? Where they HELL did this pickiness and specificness come out of?? Having to buy silver wire to mix with your kanthal wire?? lmao.

There are children DYING of starvation in africa. ONE spoonful of rice away from death... And we're all refreshing the classifieds section, hoping for the right zen rebuildable atomizer tank to show up?

"Oh I can't use anything other than 300 mesh"
"Oh I couldn't use an aluminum tank, I'm really worried about aluminum"
"I like bottom coil cartomizers WAY better than horizontal or regular cartos, trust me, I've tried em all"

lol. I'm not making fun of the above statements. In fact, I'm right there with most of them... But really? When did we get sooooooooo darn picky?? LOL. Other meshes aren't really THAT different from 300 mesh... Do you not drink soda in aluminum cans because it comes in aluminum cans? Do you not eat canned foods?? lol...

IDK. If you want to skip reading everything above, fine. I just want to ask this these TWO questions:
1.) If you ARE picky: What are the MOST picky quirks that you have? What can you NOT do without?
2.) If you AREN'T picky at all: Whats your ultra simplified set-up? Do you prefer a 510 with a 2.5 ohm carto.. etc.. etc... I just wanna know your quirks whether ur ulta picky or ultra simplified?

The easiest thing for me is using Smoktech 1.7 ohm XL cartomizers with or without a tank. They are just easy, hold a lot of juice and have great flavor. They are inexpensive and last long enough for me. If I want to vape some flavors here and there without filling an entire carto, I use a standard joyetech 510 atty.

Funny just how picky we can be and miserly too, compared to what we used to put up with lousy cigs and their related expense.

I dunno. I still have and use my first (and only) battery. An ego something... I recently ordered a ego twist after reading some of the people here say that they are good. But honestly, I just get the easiest and most affordable things I can use. I have been vaping for about a month and a half (i think) and am now only thinking of trying my own diy liquids. And only because I realize how much cheaper it would be.
The first mod I made with my pv was that I bought a different cartomizer. I went from the one they give you, to the something called a double coil, which I enjoyed. And recently, I "upgraded" to the vivi nova because i like the chord in the liquid idea better than a cotton like substance when I cape (for flavor changing reasons and so i can see when i am getting low).
I often read the posts here and really dont understand a whole lot about what people are saying. I used to think that it was a reading comprehential problem I was having, so I went to youtube to see what they were talking about...and I was STILL lost. But its still cool to see how others are doing what I do. Sometimes I pick up a tip here or there, but mostly I dunno. I just pour the juice in and Vape.

Plumes - most of the world lives on a dollar a day. Most of us on the board spend a dollar a day or more on our vaping supplies alone. Even the poorest amongst us are affluent. To answer your question about why - the farther away from survival you are, the more you can indulge in hyper awareness of the subtleties of experience and choice.

bnperry1- See, your a bare essentials kind of vaper lol. and whats funny is I'm SURE you enjoy vaping just as much as the next guy that just happens to have six genesis styled PVs that all cost over $200. I'm sure your JUST as happy and a lot of bare essentials vapers could NOT be happier hahaha. On the other side of the scale, people with 6 $200+ devices still need more. They are always, ALWAYS looking for the next best clearomizers, the next best pyrex tanks, they are always looking for smething new.

IDK guys. I just don't want n00bs to be scared away by some of the more advanced terminoligy. I don't want them scared away by people recommending provaris or GGs or ANY of that. A newb needs an eGo, some cartos, maybe a clearo OR carto tank, n juice. They either need an eGo kit that comes with cartomizers or a clearomizers tank similar/like the mini vivis, or something like a redux or T2/T3/T4... OR, they need either a cartomizer eGo kit, OR, an eGo twist/spinner, and a normal eGo, with a pack of cartomizers, or a couple vivi minis, or a couple Kanger T2/3/4... Thats ALL a noob needs lol. Thats IT.

We just have to ask them: 1.) DO YOU KNOW WHAT VARIABLE VOLTAGE IS? If they say YES, I'D LIKE TO TRY IT. Then we obviously want to recommend they try a vision spinner or an eGo twist, and then maybe a normal 650m eGo with vivi/kangers, and then some juice, and an AC to USB adapter and a USB charger cable. lol... THATS IT!

2.) DO YOU KNOW WHAT VV IS? If they say NO, and I DONT CARE. I JUST WANT A SIMPLE DEVICE THAT WILL WORK! Well then, you tell them to pick up a 650mah eGo kit, either a vivi kit, a kanger kit, or a cartomizer kit, and then some juice.

3.) DO YOU NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY? If they say something like YES, I'm only 19 and I can only spend around $30... Well then, you tell them to get ONE eGo battery, or ONE eGo twist battery, a charger cable (maybe just a USB cable) some juice, and a pack of cartomizers... RIGHT? Thats ALL they ESSENTIALLY need, am I right? This would of been GREAT advice for when I was a noob.

When I was a noob, I was told to get a 510 kit. Got one. Then an eGo kit. Got an eGo. Then a Mod. Got a mod..... And then SO ON and SO FORTH and SO ON and then SO FORTH and SO ON and then SO FORTH... lol.

Who else uses a very SIMPLISTIC set-up? And What do you use? OR, Alternatively... What complications can you ABSOLUTELY NOT, EVER, LIVE WITHOUT these days? lol. Please do tell us, either way! :)

what do you NEED that would seem totally complicated to a essentials vaper zuzette? thats what I'm asking the vets. And then I'm asking the noobs and/or the essential vapers what they use and why they think its all they need, or why its all they think they will EVER need. I remember when I 1st started vaping, around 4 years ago now, I thought I'd NEVER need anything other than my beautiful white yetti (510 long) batteries, my cute white 510 atomizers, and my white carts. Looks JUST like really long marb lights!

LOL!

I hear ya loud and clear Plumes. Some people view this as a hobby and some people believe in 'He who dies with the most toys wins" while others are worried about cost and others simplicity. Some are still looking for that elusive perfect vape while others are lucky enough to have found it. Whatever works for you! Im not even gonna try and say I understand or agree with some of those outlooks but luckily I only have to worry about me.

I'm perfectly fine with my Provari, my Phiniac tank, my pre-punched cartos from Smoktek and my juices from AVE while someone else may not be and thats okay cause Im not planning on sharing anyway :p

To answer this question is near impossible really. For what is simple for one person may not be for another. I myself don't bat an eye at an RBA and consider that to be simple. Phoenix is my choice for this reason.
On days that I don't feel like having the fiddle with dripping then I use a Ego T-tank type A on an E.T Vision atomizer.
The PV that powers both of these is a VAMO, its reliable and seems to have held up. I'm however not hard on my mods and seriously doubt it would survive anything more then a hard jar or 4 foot fall on concrete (haven't tried this...yet, so not confirmed).

I'll soon have a IHybrid and set that up, I suspect that the pop in a battery and go will be far more entertaining to me on the days I don't want to fiddle or am driving.

Typically I think as you get accustomed to the different devices and feel more confident then there is that urge to progress to the next level. Modding and being complicated is what drives progress however, if everyone was rocking a simplistic set-up then where would we be today with the advancements in PV's and Atomizers.

Just my thoughts on the topic :)

right now, my favorite vape? I'm using a 2.0ohm smoktech atomizer on a provari mini. I'd be using the atomizer on my reo mini, but i've only got one battery that works in my reo mini.. Because, for some reason, I bought 3 batteries, from two different battery vendors, and, idk why but 1 battery from each battery vendor, died. So now I've only got 1battery for my (poor ME) poor reo mini... Which, coincidentally, is pretty much my very favorite mod. That is how simple I am.

Forget variable voltage constantly. (Don't need it all the time) Forget top coil clearos, bottom coil clearos, RBAs, RBATanks, horizontal cartos, carto tanks, vivi novas. Those are ALL great. ALL great. I love carto tanks for flavor. I LOVE my vivi novas for convenience/reliability out of the house on my big battery mods or my provari. I just dump juice into a vivi nova tank and I'm good to go for 3-4 hours. Awesome. I love bare cartomizers for tasting a favorite juice around the house, and then I can easily change the flavor in a couple hours by waiting for the cartomizer to dry out... Then I just drip more juice (a new flavor) into the cartomizer and I'm good to go again... I love my eGo styled clearomizer tanks (right now I use smoktech REDUX for these tanks, but I will eventually have Kanger T3, T4, and mini vivi novas I'm sure, lol) for a tank-like device for my eGo Spinner. I like the REDUX for a TANK that has flavor similar to an atomizer. I just take the top little rubber cap off of the top of the removable atomizer head of the redux, (which is NOT compatible with the vivi nova tank heads, btw... they LOOK exactly alike, but alas, theydo not interhange. Anyway, taking that top rubber top-hat off, allows me to drip right into the screw-in atomizer head, by just spilling juice over into it. (Kinda like one of those cup and ball games where you catch the ball on a string? Except you try to catch a little bit of juice in the atomizer head's coils, haha) So, as you can see, I have preferences for everything that I'd like to be able to do and I try to figure out everything I can possibly do with each type of vaping supply so that I can figure out how to get the BEST experience out of vaping that I possibly can. But, all in all, you can't beat an atty on a reo. lol.

Don't get ME wrong... I use ALL of the different styles of atomizer/ carto heads. I use my Aga-T/GVBirkshire while I'm at home when I want to play with the resistance of what I'm using... Like, If I have to use one of my unregulated mods, if/because I'm waiting for my provari batteries to charge because I forgot to charge the 2nd one or something? Or I use my Birkshire if I wanna taste a juice unobstructed by cotton filler? K?

I use a rebuildable dripping atty when I just wanna taste a flavor and change them quickly. My rebuildable atomizer doesn't keep any flavors stuck in it. (usually) (I love it for that fact! Hell, I could drip my favorite coffe [bwb espresso, hehe] ...... I can vape up ALL the espresso, and then as soon as I'm getting dry hits from my RBA, I can drip chai tea, or watermelon, whatever the heck I want... and I won't taste the espresso. I love my RBA. Its sold as the rainbow I think? Or the HEBEL RBA. It comes with an eGo Skirt and its got lines in it that go PERFECTLY with my telescope mod hehe) I use variable voltage AND unregulated and/or fixed volt devices... I use expensive devices, and cheap devices on a daily basis... Although, I do use ONE or the OTHER sometimes ALL DAY haha. It all depends on which batteries are charged and which mod I FEEL like using in the morning, yknow?

I use BIG battery mods, and I use eGos. (except... I stepped on my eGo.. And the button broke. (smoktech branded eGo, btw. I'll never buy another smoktech branded eGo again. Sure, I love my smoktech BOLT 18490/18650 mod.... But I'd never buy another smoktech eGo because I think they put more quality control into their other products. I'd ONLY BUY VISION and JOYE when it comes to eGos. IN FACT, I have a vision spinner on its way right now!

Like I said above, I'm even using a bottom fed BOX mod now. (my reo mini 14500) and it has QUICKLY turned into my FAVORITE mod for out of the house, and pretty much in the house and EVERYWHERE as well lol. (NEVER would of thought that it would become my FAVORITE mod, even with my provari in reach, its still my favorite mod to reach for.... lol) I thought the provari would always b my favorite e cig mod, until I decided to buy/try a reo, and, YUP, its probably my FAVORITE mod now. Its SOOOOOOOOOOO CONVENIENT. So to bring it back, DON'T get ME wrong, I love everything available to us "complicated" but I also love a bottom fed box mod with an atty? lol.

Ive found out that I actually DO NOT like atomizers or cartos UNDER 2 ohms. I don't. Anything UNDER 2 ohms just burns up way too fast or becomes tight way too fast. Even on unregulated mods. I'd rather use a 2 ohm or regular resistance atty/carto than a quick burn/die ultra low ohm 1.25 or 1.5 or 1.7 ohm atty/carto. I genuinely like 2 ohms on anything. Right around 3.7/4v = heaven on earth yo. Forget the RESSSSSSSSSSSST!!! :p

Its that easy. An atomizer on an eGo battery would be just as good as ANYTHING else WHEN YOU DON'T MIND DRIPPING.... and, I mean... YOU CANT BEAT THE TASTE OF JUICE DRIPPED RIGHT ONTO A 2ohm NORMAL 510 atomizer. Feel me?? I mean, a rebuildable atty at 2 ohms is good, but any 510 atomizer at 2 ohms with some fresh dripped juice? BANG. BANG BANG.... AND they last 2 weeks or more almost consistantly? (i mean yea, i just had one die on me after around 4 days... BUT that wasn't 2ohm resisted, that one was 1.5 ohms, which, they die a lot faster... but...) For the most part, a normal, 2ohm 510 atty? 2 weeks to a month of use :D

As far as me? I like having everything at my disposal. I like being able to use whatever is out there, cuz i wanna have everything that works. I let OTHERS DO THE RESEARCH AND TESTING FOR ME THOUGH. I am NOT one to buy something the 1st WEEK it comes out. The 2nd week? YES. lol. I'm not gonna buy a mod the 1st week though. OR a tank, or a clearo, or an anything. NOPE! I wanna make sure they the mod isn't gonna blow up, the clearo isn't a waste of money... I wanna make SURE that it provides a NEW experience. Otherwise, I don't want a whole lot of the SAME thing. You feel me? Havin a whole lot of the SAME THING is spending a whole lotta money on chicken, and ostrich eggs, and then realizing that they are the same taste in different packaging.

Screw that.

FINAL REMARKS.... Congratulations if you read all of that. I wouldn't have if it weren't my post.
LMAO. YOUR NUTS if you read that.... But, anyway, yeah, I like to have as many vaping experience changing accessories as I possibly can. If something is advertized to be better, or give you a better vaping experience, and then people confirm the claims, I want it... But, BUT, in my oppinion, even though I try to have everything that will make vaping more FUN, I STILL believe that an atomizer on a reo is the BEST experience you can have when vaping.

SO, thats MY opinion and I'm sticking to it. guess what guys? I haven't slept in like 24 hours + lol
Night! :p ;)

I think this forum serves more then one purpose. One, helping out new people learn how to get started in a hobby that has a steep learning curve and answer there questions. That's why there's a new member forum and an ask the vets. Two, a place for people who treat vaping as a hobby to discuss their hobby. Any hobby that can be very deep and technical will have those who enjoy indulging in that aspect of it. I don't consider it being picky, just the direction some like to take it. Why? Because they can, they enjoy it, and they can afford it. Also, some people are tinkerers and are able to get pretty deep into the hobby without a hight cost.

Me? I somewhat enjoy that stuff. But for me the enjoyment of the hobby goes in the direction of eliquids. Same as some people do wine or food or fine tobaccos. I'm happy with my Twists and dripping atties for my hardware, with the occasional foray into checking out new products. But most of what I spend goes into trying new liquid vendors and juices. I'm not looking for a specific all day juice or anything like that. And it's a fairly cheap hobby for me, since I vape all my purchased juices unless it's horrible. It's cheaper than smoking (not much) and it's a hobby, whereas smoking was just an addiction. I'm still addicted to nicotine and enjoy it, and I have no qualms with that.

The VAMO does look like a nice, solid PV.
I'll probably be recommending it a lot in the next few months for a nice VV PV for anyone.
Its a nice, simple, good looking, nicely performing PV, and its actually calibrated correctly.
The vamo is definitely a nice PV if a new vaper is looking for a bare essentials VV big battery mod.

ROSEB- Did you mean ENCORE?
Where did you get it? Is it like a cig-alike kind of thing? You use it with what?
WOW 24mg nicotine. I never recommend that high, but a lot of people do prefer that.
If your using a smaller cig-styled PV with normal resisted atty/cartos, then 24mg is probably great.
The LESS juice vaporized per puff, the higher my nicotine has to be to feel a nice throat hit.

So a lot of this does come down to the right combinations in my humble opinion.

Dont have much to add to this, but I still have the joyetech ego I started with, and recommend the same setup for NU Bs, except for the RBAs that came with it.after spending $$ on the starter kit, I discovered rebuildable ,clearo's.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of demonstrating my setup to my daughter, who I would give my right arm, eye(you get the idea) if she would quit smoking. I had previously given her a couple of disposable blu's, which she liked, and let curiosity take its course. She loved my setup, all the different flavors, etc., and will be getting her own ego/clearo setup.

I guess I would add that most NU Bs are a bit intimidated by the whole thing, and are more willing to accept the disposable cig alikes than the cannons a lot of us carry around. So, while I am all too happy to help/advise/demonstrate, it's a lot to take in at once. IMHO Many of us wouldn't be here if it weren't for those disposables. I would encourage a smoker to start there. He's likely to have one of a few positive reactions-"this is nice", or "this is nice, and fills the void between smokes".thats the time to pull out your BF ECIG (you know, the telescoping, automatic overhead dual-tank-fed, Bluetooth enabled, turbo vapor recovery, double titanium wicking, remote laser vaporizing, GPS enabled, triple hydrogen cell powered mod with a whammy bar voltage regulator and, (at the risk of seeming silly) a backup 18650 battery.

Holy ****

Don't read that if you've been vaping for longer than 4 months.
(referring to that GAR-GAN-TYOO-UM post I made earlier in this thread, lol)
That post is probably for someone trying to figure out what vaping is all about...
Someone new-ish, that wants to know what the vets are using these days...
and if buying into all the new products is worth it.
Jeeeeeeeez, I could probably use some SLEEP, huh? wow. lol.

But, I still want to know what YOU have thats completely complicated, that u cant live without...
OR, i wanna know what YOU have/use thats completely and totally NORMAL.

Like, do YOU use a carto on a 510 battery? lol. Your a BARE ESSENTIALLIST. Tell me.
Do YOU use a cartomizer on a vv eGo battery, BUT, you HATE twist/spinners, so you use an eGo booster, or vvkGo?? Thats a perfect example of a complicated quirk that u may have that I wanna hear about. Tell me something that you MUST have that isn't necessary for a noob to have!
