Sometimes I just want a cigarette. Sometimes more than others. I envy the people who were able to quit on the first day. vaping just doesn't cut it for me all the time.

I know it is not nicotine, because I have used very high nic juices - so high that it made me sick. It is not the "X factor" from tobacco because I use Stonewalls disolveables to cover that. It is not the amount of vapor, because with my penstyle or my box mod, I have vapor coming out my ears - much more than the smoke a cigarette produces. And it is certainly not flavor, because I have tons of very yummy juices - and cigarettes taste like crap. I have even tried crappy tasting juices to see if that worked - bad idea LOL

I have noticed a definite difference in the consistency of vapor verses smoke. Consistency might not be the right word, but I don't know how else to discribe it. Vapor is lighter and fluffier, not as much substance to it. I have tried VG to thicken up the vapor, but it is still not cutting it. I can suck tons of vapor out of my e-cig, and still not feel like I am getting anything. This is the only thing I can think of - other than the possibility that I just have a strong psychological addiction to cigarettes.

Has anyone else noticed this difference between vapor and smoke, and have you found a solution? How do I make a "fuller bodied" heavier vapor?

Thanks for any help.

I was the same way, and I believe that (just my personal opinion) what was missing was the instant hit of carbon monoxide. CO basically substitutes itself into your blood instead of oxygen, it does it immediately. The best thing I have ever found was to get some low nic juice and just kind of puff my way past it. It seems having something to puff kind of keeps me busy.

I went through that and sometimes I still get the urge but I just put it out of my mind and it's over. You just feel like your missing something. Especially for me in the morning I get up to go outside and then I think why, for what? It's just the habit of doing it. Everyone is different though. I haven't seen your name for along time Angelique. PS IT does get easier over time.

i agree but i fight it and it ends up ok. Usually when i first wake up and after i eat. vaping isnt the same early in the morning it seems like it tears up my throat alot in the morning but a bunch of short drags laying in bed does the trick after a while. Also after eating, the crappy cigarette taste sort of cleared my palette(SP?) in a way. I liked it and still feel that vaping doesnt do it. But i push on hoping to soon forget the cig. Smoking for me now is a terrible experience. I cant finish a cig and have to toss it after a few drags.

Density is prolly the word. Vapor is not as dense as the smoke. and vapor is cold and wet comming out of my mouth unlike the smoke.

and looking at your sig, the volcano(same as your blu) didnt cut it for me. Idk what a j118 mod is so maybe thats working for you.

The less you smoke, the less you reduce the risk inherent in smoking. If vaping lessens the amount you smoke, then you also are reducing risk.

Any doctor will tell you that the key is risk reduction.

Hopefully, over time, you will be able to drop the cigs completely. In the mean time, don't feel guilty if you have to go back to an analog every now and then.

Just keep vaping and I'm sure you'll get there sooner or later.

I went through the same thing, albeit for a very short period of time. My suggestion would be to allow yourself the occasional analog. I kept my pack in my garage, in my car, in the trunk, and pulled out one cigarette at a time. Eventually, I stopped having the ambition to go through all the trouble to get one. :) I put aside the guilt-trip and enjoyed it to the fullest. Eventually, I had no desire to buy analogs.

I think of having a cigarette when I am under a great deal of stress. Yesterday was a horrid day, trying to get my orientation and transfer agreement stuff done at my new college. A woman mentioned to the counselor that she was going to go out for a cigarette, and my mouth watered at the thought of having one.

I thought about asking her if I could buy one off of her to smoke later, but realized I would have no way to light it, and finding a lighter would only cause me more stress, and that even when I accomplished that I wouldn't really enjoy the cigarette because they don't taste good to me anymore.

Later on, I reflected upon it and realized I never wanted a cigarette; I wanted my stress resolved. I used to use cigarettes to cope with things, so when I am agitated I think of smoking, but all I really want is something to help me calm down.

Do you have triggers too, perhaps?

You could try 5 volt for more throat hit...I've found that nothing I do really compares to the throat hit of an analog, but the taste of analogs just isn't worth it. 5v helps during those times. Also, pg juices will give you a stronger throat hit than VG...almost to the point that (during particularly big draws) it may make you cough. ^_^

Also, good to see you around these parts again Angelique!

I'm with ya, I haven't had a cigarette in a year and no desire UNTIL I'm under stress then the triggers hit big time. I had to run my husband to the ER while we were on vacation and the whole time I'm thinking...God I need a cig. It's those subconscious triggers that I think will always be there.

I went through the same thing. I settled in better when I bought (in order of purchase/each adding to better craving control):

510 attys
Menthol liquid and menthol crystals to boost it
5v passthrough
Several big battery mods (Chuck/Little Chuck/Silver Bullet used most)
Snus (especially during times of anxiety/stress - about 4 a day for 2 months)
Bumped up nicotine to 18mg
Halo Smooth 8 in 18mg.

Today (vaping for just over 14 months), I'm using my mods and 18mg Halo Smooth 8 most of the day with some menthol or a flavor once in a while to change it up. No more anxiety, no more cig cravings, no need for the snus. FINALLY.

@ Skippy - Give Snus a shot and have it around for those anxious moments/stress. Helps!

Hang in there! It gets better.

I miss going outside on my porch to smoke, especially at night for some reason. I think it is the ritual factor of it, you know what I mean?

I know what you mean, angelique. I think the one thing that is missing is the mouth burn/hit sensation. Going to 5V makes it more improved. I think menthol helps with that a tad. I've bought some peppery ejuice to try to give my tobacco juices a kind of spicy, burning/tingly feel to see if that works.

I have a half gallon of 36 mg no flavor ejuice, some times i add flavors, some times i dont( my mix is 75% pg and 25% vg..

I dont know why i get the urge to have a cig, but i some times still do and its driving me crazy...

i havent smoked a ciggy tho, i go right on vapin and try to get that urge out of my mind..

but im still fighting urges for that cig..

Thanks for all the suggestions. And it was very sweet of a couple of you who said you've missed me :) I've been around - just not as active of late.

Mac - is there such a thing as a penstyle to KR8 adapter? I like the battery life of my RN4072. I'm wondering how that would work with a cartomizer. I think it's a 3.7 battery, too. That would make an impressive long skinny cigarette :)

Imawitch - you use the RN4072 also. How long does an atty last for you? I had to replace mine after three weeks. It still worked, but it got funky tasting, and Everclear didn't help. Several months and my batteries are still good as new :)

Sorry for the derail.

No, I'm not, sorrry. I'm allowed to derail my own thread :p

I think the "head" cravings are from so many years of find enjoyment/comfort in the anologs and it was what we always turned to.

I dont have many moments where i feel i need one BUT i have had a few after the first time i knew i didnt want to suffer thru that. So ihave a juice bottled that is 36mg of Dulce De Leche that for some odd reason takes those urges away, for me it is strong flavor, Lots of vapor and hit the spot in those tight moments.I dont vape it all the time because i want to keep it as my backup plan :)

But you are not alone keep vaping :) and take one moment at time if you cant do one day at a time

I have been told they exist but couldn't point you toward a source. Cartomizer vapor is noticably thicker and hotter in my opinion. That might be what you need to close the analog gap.

This is why i love these forums, everyone is very helpful, and i have picked up some good tips along the way.

Everyone says they have completely quit ciggies, but I think we're in the same boat, i vape and still smoke about a half pack per day (down from 1 pack)

I think getting a 6v mod will help, looking into buy a BB, small and packs a big punch.

Hope the best for you =)
