Casual vaper here. Currently, I'm using a Vapor Zeus XL (I take turns with a manual battery/tank system and auto battery/smileomizer system). I've used an Ego battery with Protank 2 in the past. That is all the experience I have thus far. I smoke nicotine free juice; I took up vaping to replace the occasional cigar. I like making big vapor, and I love flavor (I vape lots of tobacco flavored juices). The Zeus makes a nice amount of vapor, and doesn't require a lot of maintenance, but of course, I'm wondering how I can make more vapor/get more flavor. I would prefer not to get into an expensive rig that requires extensive assembly and maintenance. I'm not sure I'm ready for a dripper. I've seen some custom tanks discussed like the Kayfun Lite and the Kanger sub tank; however, do these tanks (with mod batteries) bring anything to the table that the Vapor Zeus isn't already doing? What would be the next step to outperform the Zeus (more flavor/vapor) without a ton of maintenance or money?

-Thanks

Basically, to get more vapor and/or flavor, we need to get you more power. So looking at the specs online, the Zeus XL runs 2.5 ohm cartomizers at 5v for a 10 watt vape, with a 1300mah battery. So we'll want to put together something that will do more than 10 watts. For $40, something like an MVP 20W (not the regular MVP2 - that one only goes up to 11 watts) will get you an adjustable range that an upper limit double what you're used to, so you can dial your settings however you like them (or to suit your mood). And with twice the battery capacity, you won't take a hit on vape time for the extra power.

As far as a topper, an Aspire Nautilus with BVC coils, will be about as maintenance free as your smileomizers (you just change out the coil cartridges every couple of weeks) and can handle the extra power to give you more vapor and flavor.

Now on to the other tanks you've seen people talking about. Using something designed for sub ohm vaping like the Kanger Subtank or Aspire Atlantis makes things a little more complicated because you need gear that will handle sub-ohm resistances safely. Honestly, it doesn't sound like you really need to go that low to get the results you want. A Kayfun (or Kayfun style tank like the Lemo) will give you more flavor and/or vapor than the Nautilus, but at the expense of more work - instead of changing a coil cartridge, you need to wrap your own coil once a month or so and change the wick out every few tanks. It's not a whole lot of work, (15 minutes monthly and 5 minutes every day or two), but there's a learning curve to getting it right and it sounds like more than you want to deal with. I think the 20 watt MVP and Nautilus combo would significantly outperform your Zeus in the areas you say you're looking for while still being pretty hassle free.

Thanks a ton for your advice. This information makes a lot of sense. I'm going to take a hard look at the setup you mentioned. The price is definitely right...

Honestly, the Aspire Atlantis will probably suit you well.

Aspire even makes a sub ohm battery that you could use with it (http://online.aspirecig.com/aspire-cf-subΩ-battery-without-usb-charger-p-91.html). Or you could go the box mod route. I use my Atlantis with a Hana Clone.

In all honesty, Kayfuns aren't meant for clouds. So if you are looking for "more" vapor, you'll be disappointed with a Kayfun. You will get more vapor from a Kayfun than I'm imagining you're getting from your Zeus but nowhere near what you'd get from an Atlantis.

Man, that's another good looking system. Decision...decisions.....

If you want clouds you dont want a Kayfun.
Your best bet is either the Kanger Subtank and something like the Aspire subohm battery or the Atlantis and Subohm battery.
Easy, maintenance free for the most part, no building, etc.
And they will give much much much more vapor than a Kayfun.
The Subtank has better flavor than the Atlantis but the Atlantis has a bit better vapor production.
Id honestly suggest the Subtank ($40) and Aspire Sub ohm battery ($30) or Hana clone ($50-70), or the 35w or 50w SX300 boxes ($50-60)

The Atlantis or the Subtank will both work if you get a mod that will fire them, but you should check the specs and make sure the device you get will handle sub-ohm coils. Most regulated mods have minimum resistance levels, and if you get one that can't handle a .5 ohm coil, these tanks won't work.

I'd recommend against the Aspire CF SUB as your battery either way, though. Coming from your Zeuss, the change that will seem like the biggest upgrade to you is the ability to change your power settings. The CF is non-adjustable, just like your Zeuss. Also like your Zeuss (and you may not even notice this) it will gradually reduce the power it puts out as you go from fully charged to drained. An adjustable (or "regulated") mod will output steady power at whatever level you set from the first puff until the last.

In all seriousness my Aspire Nautilus Mini and matching 1000mah VV+ Aspire battery work great. I run it at 4.2 volts. I picked it up locally for $50 as a kit. It even came with 5 (+1) coils. I would recommend the Sub Ohm version they now offer if you want more vapor, though the Mini I have makes tons ;) I went for the leap and ordered an RDA. I went cheap until I know what I'm doing :) Big 28.5mm 101 Vape Adjustable Airflow Atomizer - 101 Vape I also got some of this Rayon Sites-SA-Site and some of this coil :) Amazon.com: Kanthal 32 AWG Gauge A1 Wire 100' Roll .20mm , 13.75 Ohms/ft Resistance: Everything Else The only thing I have left to get is a better battery and that will probably be an iStick. I got into vaping to quit smoking cigarettes and I'm not too crazy about massive clouds. I want enough throat hit to stay clean and not so much that I get weird looks LOL
