Take the Political Jargon to PM
{MODERATED}
But the fact remains.......
Some vendors are shouting all over and Some are Not. Not sure why, but I have voiced what I believe are some possible reasons for them taking whatever stance they have on the issue.
In my first response to Kodiak's OP, I stated what I knew about 'some' vendors and also what I know about why some vendors aren't 'vocal' here. Some have had their posts deleted and one, banned, when they weren't promoting their product but making mention of a situation that needed attention from 'above'.
That said, there are probably some vendors, just like there may be some vapers, that don't care one way or the other and that is well, one could say 'sad' were it not for the fact that one can also figure out 'why that is' ;- )
Still, I think we should 'encourage' them to participate, but not do a broad criticism when we don't have the true numbers or intentions.
I agree 100% with that Ken, I believe that Vendors should be able to voice their concerns regarding this subject any time they wish.
I also believe that when they are brought up by name they should be allowed to respond no matter what thread it is in because often times they are blamed, tried and convicted no matter if it is true or not what is being said about them without even the benefit of being allowed to state their side of the story.
So with the rules here the way they are I can completely understand if none of them even address this issue at all here or even on their websites as it may lead to a discussion here which could land them in the ban box.
Unless they come out and specifically state why they are or are not being vocal about it and plastering it all over their websites. I guess all of this is conjecture.
Keep in mind another fact, Vendors cannot come in here and defend themselves they are pretty much imprisoned in their own vendor threads by the rules of ECF.
Which is why people should be heading over to those Forum Supplier sub-forums here & putting a little pressure on them..
Then again, I started a thread about it in one a day or two after the FDA proposal came out..
And this is a relatively large & popular US manufacturer, with a fairly active Supplier forum...
I basically asked them what we, as their customers, could do from their official perspective (as it relates to their biz/products) to help them in this fight so they could continue their business & we could continue to buy their products in the long-term..
Only a couple (non-Supplier) posters responded -- and not a peep from the Supplier reps (there's at least 2 active)..
At the very least, a Supplier rep could have responded with something like, "Thanks for your interest! We're still evaluating the situation, but we'll be sure to let you guys know as soon as we've come up with our take on it all & how to go about fighting this as it pertains to our company & products. In the meantime, we suggest for anybody who wants to get involved now, to become a member of some vape advocacy groups, such as CASAA."
Would it really be that difficult??![]()
I completely agree and would like to see the 'rules' bent for this forum - so long as they don't say what they have for sale for the Spring Season. lol.
Yes, unfortunately the rules here on ECF do in fact make it JUST THAT DIFFICULT. The Vendors cannot comment on it here. They just can't, and I agree with Kent on this, when it comes down to this type of situation the rules should be bent to allow them to do so.
Really? I thought a vendor could post as long as they didn't push their products.

Like others, I'm preparing for the worst. I have my Provari and I have my Stingray clone mechanical. Batteries up the wazoo and I just started DIY'ing too. First batch today! If I'm not mistaken, during the 95% tax scare in my home state (washington) Mount baker either attended a rally or one of the hearings or something like that. I could swear they had people there.
Provape (Provari) however tends to be rather quiet and conservative regarding these issues. That said, they did send a detailed email about what was being proposed and what to do (call/email congressman) which I did. I send a beautifully crafted message to each of the 3 representatives in my district and got supportive (against the tax) messages back from two, and a neutral (i think) response from one. I was surprised to hear back. It's all in the thread I started when this was happening (The end of the Provari? 95% tax in washington). Good thread, I posted responses from congressman and the youtubers I reached out to.
The youtubers are active in this as well. vapingwithtwisted420 posted something, Grimmgreen posted one, Indoorsmokers has a video, and possibly others by now. These people reach far more people than vendors and forums alike, so it's good they're getting the word out
Yeah it scared the hell outta me when I saw the Call To Action regarding the WA Tax proposal. That was absolutely absurd in every way.
Provari was my very first mod and there will always be several of them in my home. I use pretty much mechanicals only now so my Wife has all of my Provari's as well as her own. This is in fact a testimony as to how big a voice we have as a unit if we all choose to clear our lungs and write to our representatives. They cannot ignore us if we speak loud enough and in large enough numbers.

Yeah I was very active when that tax thing was rolling around. This FDA thing just seems to big to stop though, but I hope I'm wrong about that. Some regulation is good, (no minors, labels) but the special licensing is going to run a lot of vendors in to the ground. Just a sucky deal for the community.
That said, just look how greatly the industry advanced last year alone. This year? Two years from now when this proposed nonsense takes effect? I have a difficult time believing that the government will be allowed to force this many people out of jobs, and destroy an entire economy that is the vaping world. How many jobs do you guys think will be provided due to vaping in 2016? I can tell you it is not going to be a small number.
You missed one key part of it:
I created my thread in their own Supplier Forum..
Of course they can respond there.. they do it all the time, that's the whole purpose of it!
I can tell you this this much, at least 5 jobs will be created by the end of 2016/beginning of 2017. 2016 is the year I retire from the military and take vaping on full time. I have defended this country and it's values my entire adult life. In that I have sworn on more than one occasion to DEFEND the Constitution of the United States Of America. I will not have my life's work mean nothing under a cloud of Legislature that infringes upon the Rights of the Citizens I have sacrificed so much to protect.
We have Won these battles before and we shall win again. For Crying Out Loud we have a Vape Shop on my Base.
As Vapers we are strong in numbers and we are strong in our resolve to make this right. Regulation of a potentially harmful substance is inevitable, it needs to be in place. That being said it needs to be done in a way that fosters growth, not in a manor that stifles and suffocates it.
