Cartomizers:
High Performance 510 Black Cartomizers

They have soft ends that can be removed and replaced with drip tips if you like:
Drip Tips
The metal ones are from Heaven-Gifts. I have the Type B and like them. I just ordered two Type As because Amy prefers them so I'm going to try them.

15% discount this week:

I'm not even bothering to clean mine out. Cartomizers are designed to die faster than atomizers but they also cost a fraction of the price. If it lasts a couple of weeks and then I have to toss it, I can live with that.

ETA: If you are going to clean your cartos, you should empty them first. Here's the Reverse Taryn Spin. From what I can see, Leaford never did make part 2 (cleaning using the Taryn Spin), but this will definitely leave you with less to clean out.

Thanks everyone..this is very helpful!

So, with the drip tips...you just drip in the juice through the exposed end? No removing the tip to fill? About how many drops fit in a carto using a driptip?

And what about batteries? Which should I choose from the get go, so that Im not having to go through the "Damn, I wish I had just gotten that kind in the first place!" syndrome. I know its a matter of personal preference, but which do you guys prefer...I have no idea what a Mhah (or whatever the terminology is) is....Ive never tried anything other than a 510, so I have no preference at this point.....get me to where you are, so that I can start off where you've ended up.

Batteries: For the Chuck: the 18650 3.7v single battery option, I personally prefer AW batteries, they don't make up their statistics and it still lasts me 2 + days of vaping on a single charge no matter what. If you plan to use Low Resistance you would want to get an IMR Battery, again, AW provides those as well for a more consistent experience with low resistance vaping.

Or if you plan to go 6v, then there's no real cr123 solution that provides the safety and reliable statistics than the AW LiFePo4 3.0v Batteries.

Also, make sure to get the correct charger for them which would be: 3.0/3.7v battery charger. Just make sure to select the proper voltage!

For the Lil'Chuck - That I'll let Poeia or someone who owns one answer. :)

The only place in the known universe to get protected 18350s for a Little Chuck is Mad Vapes. They have a mAh of 1,200 which is probably a little inflated. (code strell = 5%)

The 16340 LiMN batteries from AW can be found at LightHound. Their mAh is 550. (code cpf = 2%)

The LiMN are safer but the others last almost twice as long between charges so I use them most of the time.

Filling a carto - the most popular way on the 808s is the condom method (invented by Dogsbody) combined with the Taryn spin. It works on the 510s as well but not as well because the battery threads stick out and, if you pop off the white end cap, it doesn't work from that side. It's kind of messy.

Take off the end cap, drip liquid down the side like you are pouring a beer. When the filler looks soaked, do the Taryn spin to push it down then add some more liquid. What you want is to get the filler surrounding the atomizer nice and wet. If it looks like a slushy, it's good. It will work best if you let it marinate for a few minutes (or overnight) before vaping.

Cartomizers like to be wet. When it starts to dry out, add liquid. Warning: if you add more than 2 or 3 drops without removing it from your Chuck and putting the condom and .... plug back on, it will run right through the cartomizer and fill up the well on your Chuck, wasting liquid.

Using a drip tip is just more convenient than putting that little end piece on. If you drip straight through it you will probably drip into the atomizer part of the carto and flood it. (But you can drip straight through it into a real atomizer.)

Here are some carto threads we've made already (which include links to videos)

If you search YouTube for "Leaford Double" and for "Doctor Vapor Care and Feeding" you'll find the refill videos.

I got TrustFire Protected 3.7V 2400mAh 18650's for $4.95 from The Custom Saber Shop. I do plan to go 6V down the road, but right now I need battery life more.

Generally speaking, the higher mAh, the longer the battery life.

Very true, except Ultra/Trustfire comes up with creative ways to measure their mAh. Usually it's not the same as what they print for actual use, however.. that battery will still last you around 2 days so, either way it really doesn't matter when you're dealing with over 2k mAh numbers.

We both ordered Chucks, so we need to power 2 of them for 12 days. I got 6 batteries for her and 6 for me. Are you saying that we should easily get 2 days for each battery reliably or 1 day for each battery?

We'll be in harsh desert conditions working our butts off, and abusing our bodies with alcohol, a poor diet, and a serious lack of sleep. ( and yes, we're doing this for fun ;) ) Once we're out there, we won't see civilization again until the end of the trip. The last thing we'd want is to not have our nic-fix after 9 or 10 days. We'd both end up going back to analogs. I really want to make sure I get this right so that doesn't happen.

Nevermind, I retract my previous statement.

Thought you were talking about 12 each lol.

You *should* be able to get 2 days out of em, but with alcohol in the mix I can't say for sure. =P

I think on all of these, the key is plugging your charger in. The "SolarStyle" place has a charger but it's for Ni-MH batteries.

You could run a pass-through off the solar chargers if the output is 1,000mAh. Or you could use your regular charger and connect it with this. I lost my very cheap AC-USB converter and this is the one I'm buying to replace it with because, according to the Cables to Go website, it meets FCC and CE standards and I didn't see that on any of the other ones I looked at.

My 18650 batteries last 2 days easily, I can get 3 days but i just change them every 2 days just to keep my chuck working like a champ..!!
I obviously vape way less than you but I can get 48 hrs out of my 18350's. I do wish my little chuck could fit an 18650 though. Then I could be pushing 4 days!
