Chuck it to me!!
I have a question. What is a low voltage atty? Sorry to bug you pros but I don't know, and where are they sold?
That sux, but at least it still kinda works, and you have another on the way. I bet you can get that switch fixed once you get your new one. I have not seen a chuck first hand yet, I wonder how hard it would be to replace your own switch? It would be great if these could be maintained by the user, once parts fail or get accidentally broken.
Thanks Trunus, and yes I meant low resistance. It may have to wait, I have ordered extra 510's to stockpile in anticipation of little chuck.
My ordering of PV supplies has to slow down for now. Unless I win the powerball.![]()
Actually, I couldn't resist. I have to know how things work. screwed the cap off and found the switch inside. Fortunately, I work in an office / research site where they have all kinds of components, and they had a (smaller, but same rating) pushbutton switch which I had one of the techs solder on and fit back into the hole. The plunger is a little longer, but the switch is smaller, so the net is about the same. Actually has me thinking I might be able to design a locking cap to go over the switch (Two position plastic button to keep me from accidentally pushing it when it's in my jacket pocket.
Anyhow, no more twisting, just pure vaping. Ahhhhhhh!
I think you mean Low Resistance...
Basically Low Resistance is like using lube for electricity... Allows it to flow better through the contact point. Thus stimulating a high voltage and creating more heat, when in fact it is not a higher voltage. Mainly the idea behind this is allowing the user to have lower voltage batteries and still have the benefits of high voltage. The only real use I see for this is miniaturizing PV's. I mean yes you could use it, but why when you can kick it up to 6-7.2volts? I know my analogy is gruesome, yet I like it and sticking to it.

NICE ALEX GREY CHUCK!!!He's putting on an art performance in Austin, TX soon, but I won't be able to attend
I have a gig booked that night. Nice choice for a chuck design. I used some of my graphic art that was partly inspired by Alex's work. He's got an amazing eye for detail and symmetry. His art extends beyond Tool, but yes it has been a background for their performances. I have dabbled in painting psychedelic light reactive art for a few shows in the last 6-7 years, but can't claim to be nearly as good of an artist as Alex. Just BEAUTIFUL!
My wait continues, but I can feel it getting closer... maybe tomorrow.
