Me Me Me....I do not wheeze and huff and puff!!!!! I was a tobacco smoker for 41 yrs...(shame on me). Even my family has commented how much they have noticed that I am breathing better. At least I can walk on tread mill without passing out..lol..I can happily say that I have been smoke free for 8 weeks.!!! I am quite proud of myself as I am for each person on this board that has been able to throw down those alful ciggs and join the world of vaping..

I have only been vaping for about 3 weeks and I feel amazing. I quite literally came out of the hospital about 3 to 4 weeks before I started vaping. I have asthma but it wasn't really bad to where I needed my inhaler all day. However, in 2012 my health declined due to the analogs. If I did anything that made my heart race, such as bringing in groceries, lifting heavy objects, dancing, etc, my head would spin, I would feel sick, nauseous and would have to run to my bed to lay down. If I didn't I knew I would pass out. I struggled to breathe on a daily basis. My asthma became really bad this year. After every cigarette I needed my asthma pump or breathing machine. Sometimes I was almost crawling back inside wheezing to get to my pump just from one cig. Even with my medications I was almost always congested. I always tried to have a bottle of Mucinex MD just to clear up my daily congestion. I was also swallowing honey and lemon juice frequently because I had that constant tickle in the back of my throat and it drove me crazy, so did the coughing. I would go to bed and wake up coughing over and over. I didn't sleep well at all.

As many said, the mornings were the worst. It felt like someone was sitting on my chest, it was awful. Finally, everything became worse for me over a month ago. I have insomnia so I'm up all night most of the time. At around 7am I was about to head off to bed but I could breath. My asthma pump was not helping. I went to use the machine and it wasn't helping. It became more and more difficult to breath. Scared out of my mind I dialed 911 because I was the only one home that weekend and I was too afraid to continue to wait to see if my lungs would clear up. By the time the fire rescue came I was doing more gasping for air than actual breathing.

They put me on oxygen and by the time I reached the hospital I was able to breath properly again. They said I would be released and not admitted. However, when the doctor listened to my lungs, he admitted me when a room became available. He said he had never heard lungs as bad as mine and really wished his intern was there to hear them. Those days in the hospital was the first time I was able to breath well. Unfortunately, those days also cost me over $21,000. I almost fell over as bill after bill arrived just 2 days after I came home. I had a bill for Fire Rescue, the initial treatment in the ER, the hospital stay itself AND another bill from the X-ray department. 8-o

In less than a month of vaping the congestion is mostly gone if I'm using 50VG/50PG - 100%VG. I rarely cough, the throat tickle is gone, I'm not struggling to breath all day. I don't need my inhaler and breathing machine numerous times a day, I can lift heavy objects, and take out groceries. The best thing about vaping is that I can ACTUALLY breath again. I can take deep breaths again. I once thought that if I ever had to play possum, I wouldn't make it. My lung capacity was awful and I could barely hold my breath for 5 seconds.

Money is a big issue since I have a fixed income and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to afford to vape for very long. However, so many in the ECF community has reached out a helping hand to and they have helped me stay off analogs.

I have thanked them all and I want them to know that they quite literally saved my life by helping me stay off analogs. Thank you again ECF members.

I still need my asthma pump maybe twice a week for wheezing, but overall I feel great.

After a year and a half vaping, I've noticed that I have more energy, less irritability, and can breathe much, much better. However, allergy season seems a little more intense. Not sure why.

I have noticed this with allergies too!! My theory is because our airways are clear so we are getting more allergens. Just a theory of course, but we are getting more air, thus more gunk.

EDIT: I see this has been already said :)

Also, I want to add I've only had positive health benefits. Physical AND mental! Yes I am still addicted to nicotine, but I am ok with that for now.

Another benefit is the bank account! The other day I thought "wow I've gone crazy with this vape gear!!", so decided to add up my purchases. It seemed like a lot until I added up what I would have spent in the same amount of time on tobacco and other NRT's.

So yes, nothing but positive! :D

I have COPD bad. Since vaping I can walk the dog for miles, I no longer wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air and my blood pressure is down to 110/60. It was 170/90. I am SO HAPPY I found vaping. When I started using the little cig-alikes I thought it would never work. I stumbled onto this forum and everything changed. I guess I'm saying I feel better!

After only three weeks I have gone from 12 minute mile to 9.40 mile, no more morning hacking. I have a doctors app. To see if I can get off my high blood pressure pills since my numbers have dropped a ton (maybe getting to low now) It has been a combination of things, losing 60 pounds over the last five months has helped along with getting off the heaters! Get out and move your tail people, you'll be surprised how much air you can suck in without those damn Marlboros! And keep on vaping:)

Only been vaping now for about 4 weeks. But I can breathe better and I can vape 4 or 5 MLS (as apposed to a pack of analogs) while drinking and not feel like I can't breathe when I wake up. I don't get as winded as fast as I used too. So I think its helping. Plus my wife doesn't nag me about smoking anymore so that feels nice too. :)

Well nothing as dramatic as some of the above. But I actually have been hitting the gym the last couple of weeks I feel so spry. 25 years of smoking took their toll, but quitting for three plus months has restored a lot of my lungs back. I can run for a couple of miles, I can recover my breath sooo much faster from any activity. The main thing is I don't feel like I am a train wreck first thing in a morning, and five or six hours of sleep is plenty and I feel much more refreshed. Vaping rocks!
