OK, this is getting so damn old I almost want to give up here.
From what I am seeing & reading, anyone who smoked real tobacco for years before trying vaping gets belittled and dismissed as silly newbies.
Get over yourselves people! Seriously, grow up!
Just cause vaping is the new cool thing to do, doesn't make you special. When us smokers started puffing on cigarettes back in the day, we got labeled as the cool kids. But were we? Hell no, we just smoked cigarettes cause we had family who did, other friends who did or were just plain old stupid and figured it was the thing to do.
I just don't understand why, if you're not hip to the latest gadget, spend all your money on a million tanks or hang out at the local vapor shop/lounge when you're not working (if you work) then you 'don't know what vaping's all about'.
Sorry if I upset some people with this post, but suck it up. Everyone here enjoys vaping, and if you think you are more worthy than the 'not as enlightened and hip to the scene' folks like me, then piss off.

Yay another hipster bashing thread. Gotta love those that hate the knitted berets.

I have not seen anyone be belittled here - in fact I see many veterans continue to help new members and give up their time so others can enjoy vaping like they do.

So stick around if you want - there is so much more to this forum and group of members than some perceived faded stereotype.

You might not want to take it so personally when someone either disagrees with you or chooses a different lifestyle. By hating on a particular group you are doing exactly the same thing that you are accusing them of.

I am sorry you have had a bad experience. I never got that kind of impression of people here. For the most part, everyone here has always been genuine, and supportive. Most are just regular people who have been successful in quiting smoking. Most are just trying to help. after spending some more time on the forum, hopefully you will see most are very good people. Again I'm sorry you had such a negative experience.

I vape because I enjoy it, and it keeps me off cigarettes. I don't give a damn if people think I'm cool, or not. I don't give a damn about the attitudes of people that hang out in vape shops, and I certainly couldn't care less if some vapers feel they are more enlightened than me.

In short, I don't have the time, energy, or desire to focus on what other people think, or what their attitudes are.

Best thing I saw in a hazy B&M full of 'hipsters,' was an older couple (maybe in their 70's) getting their first setups. No one made fun of them. No one dissed the eGo's they bought or the choices of juice. They both had smoked for almost 50 years. They weren't 2nd class or treated as such. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but know that not all places are like that.

Between college and grad school I sold bicycles. If your shop is catering to the high-end, $4000 racing crowd, you'll fail within a month. Bread and butter was moving as many $300-$600 family friendly units out the door as possible and building up a clientele that returns for future purchases and service.

Some of these vape shops will figure this out. Some won't. We'll see who is still in business a year or so from now.

I had been on old gear for years and the same liquid before I walked into a local shop that had just opened recently. I was a bit nervous at first since everyone had newer bigger stuff. Everyone in the shop were all about just what works for you. It was all about hanging out, talking about flavors, and gear choices based on what I wanted out of vaping. It was a real nice experience. :)

I've also seen the same here in the forums since I started lurking here again. Far too many helpful people compared to anything else. Can't let one bad experience get you down.

When I was at the store I really did want to upgrade and they were so helpful. I ended up going from my old halo setup to an Aspire Sub Ohm with an Atlantis tank. This was based on me wanting a bigger battery - less charging, bigger vape, glass tank, no more wicks hanging down, and an easy newer setup to start with. Not once was it about the most expensive stuff or techy stuff. It was really nice because they seemed to care about putting someone in something they would be happy with.

Holy crap what a difference this new setup is LOL :p

If you were put down by someone that tried to make you feel stupid about "not knowing what vaping's all about", I'm sure they must have forgotten their first vaping experiences ;)

Any one that puts someone down for not knowing as much as they do is just trying to make themselves feel more important, IMHO. Try taking a step back to figure out why THEY want you to think THEY are cool. It's their problem, not yours.

(yep, I like TS, don't care when people roll their eyes when I say that! LOL!)
