The sociology classes I have taken seemed to all be based on the idea of putting people into groups. Identifying deficiencies within groups and inequalities between groups. Then the deficiencies of a group are judged and it's inequalities are blamed on another group. Guess which group gets blamed the most? I refuse to participate. I am an individual, not a nameless, faceless part of some group as determined by someone else.

Are you saying vapers are blamed the most?

Ooo, I wanna play! ;)

unpretentious -- not comfortable trying to judge my own level of pretentiousness, but I think this probably fits

engaging in copulatory activities before marriage -- yup

looking at porn/romance novels/romcoms regularly -- depends on what you consider a 'romance' novel... Jacqueline Carey, anyone?

having tattoos -- yup, got 4 and that number is only so low due to lack of funds

listening to rock music -- yep (well, rock/ metal/ alt/ industrial/ etc)

latently christian - attend church irregularly/never -- not really, I'm mostly agnostic

have difficult relationship with parents -- it's much better now that I'm an adult, but yes

apolitical or attracted to third parties -- libertarian, so yes

above-average IQ -- graduated magna cum laude, does that count?

poor to middle class -- yep

hooked into pop culture (the voice, jimmy kimmel, bradjelina, kardashians, james bond) -- not. at. all.

carnivorous -- omnivore!

I was pretty fascinated by how well your list did line up with my personality, actually, but I think it's more descriptive of forum-vapers than vapers in general.

There is a stereotypical vaper. They are typically the ones enjoying flavorful vapor coming from some sort of atomizer on top of some kind of power source. Some have even been seen smiling and enjoying life from time to time. Those that don't fit into this group will eventually find their way here. Most (from my own highly specialized observations) share common features such as faces, ears, and even arms and legs.

I'm curious if there have been any peer-reviewed studies on vapers. There have been many such studies over the decades on analog'ers.

I've been on this forum, irregularly, since 2009, and I've noticed some things about the people here.

A sizable percentage exhibit the following tendencies and characteristics:

unpretentious
engaging in copulatory activities before marriage
looking at porn/romance novels/romcoms regularly
having tattoos
listening to rock music
latently christian - attend church irregularly/never
have difficult relationship with parents
apolitical or attracted to third parties
above-average IQ
poor to middle class
hooked into pop culture (the voice, jimmy kimmel, bradjelina, kardashians, james bond)
carnivorous

I'd be curious to read any such studies that exist, or that will be coming down the pike as vaping becomes more mainstream.

Take out tatoos and Christianity / church and you've nailed me like even the CIA probably couldn't!

To be fair, your survey (more like an observational compilation to be fair) is really about ECF members, not vapers in general. You'd have to take it to the streets with clipboard notes to get the real average vaper's profile. To be even fairer, it would probably not be much different except for the IQ part... expect a lowering of IQ when taking it out from forums like this one (hey, I'm giving you all a compliment, so thank me / like my post!)
