Great idea! but maybe over engineered? The picture is too small on my screen to read the text but I think the difficulty with implementation would be standardizing the electrical connection. Physical spacing on the contacts would have to match for everybody's top cap.
Some general musings:
yes, convenient but... That would kind of defeat what I consider to be the greatest strength of the genisis. The fact that the mesh and kanthal are easily replaceable and user ADJUSTABLE to suit individual preference
Everybody is different, everybody uses different juice, everybody vapes/inhales differently. Even with those the same, people want different vapor, different throat hit, etc. I think that's one of the (if not THE) biggest mistakes/confusion/frustrations. Everyone is looking for that "perfect" vaporizer. What most everybody fails to grasp is that it's different for each individual. The manufacturers design for what they think is the common denominator due to physical and practical limitations. End result is everybody lives with a compromise.
Being able to vary your mesh, kanthal, and heat to your individual tastes (on a non-disposable device) is huge. For example I have currently settled on #400 mesh, 20 mm rolled to 2.1 mm diameter with 6 wraps of 0.20 kanthal with 1.9 Ω resistance. Works perfect for me to direct inhale with a huge air hole using what is my preferred juice at the moment. Any or all of that might change next week. When I swap out mesh and coil I can do it in about 5 minutes for a cost less than $0.10.
While a pre-made mesh and coil might be convenient to change in and out, thousands of variations to choose from would be impractical. And cost? and connectors (they'd all have to be to some standard)?
Right now this only takes me 5 minutes to change everything using a prepared mesh roll. 10~15 min if I have to prep the mesh. scissors, screw driver and mini-torch. There might be a market for pre-rolled and preped mesh maybe.
