I know this is off topic but with people in here having experience with kanthal I thought this would be the best place to ask.

I got my 32ga yesterday..still wating for everything else. In the mean time I want to do some experimenting with it on my Ato-Miser.

If I'm not mistaken I can measure the resistance of the a cut length and when installed as long as the same length is between the pos and neg connection the resistance should be fairly close to the pre installed resistance measurement? So all I need to do at that point is figure out how much access I need for mounting to the pos and neg screws?

What's the third leg on our switch for, the one we cut off? The one on the far right. Could the 'led' have been attached to that? Just curious.

I used this switch in my Chefpen, a very small genisis device.

Not exactly..coiling affects the ohms especially when heated up

Exactly right on the resistance stuff.
I believe the mouthpiece caps are the same as for the Genisis. If so, you have about 9.5 mm clearance from the top surface of the tank cap to the inside top of the mouth piece cap.

Well... yes, it's true that kanthal will change resistance with temperature, but with the length we're using and the temperature range we're dealing with I doubt you could measure the difference outside of a laboratory. Coiling does not effect the resistance. The wire has the same length and surface area whether it is coiled or not.

Yes. perfect answer. The change is less than 5%.

I've become obsessed w/ finding a way to illuminate the tank. 'asdaq's idea of shining the 'led' up through has me thinking... what if one were to couple the 'led' w/ fiber optics (inside the ear buds) or flourescent fiber?

It's beyond me how this stuff works, other than a light source is needed, aka 'led'. I don't know how they would be coupled.. Safety is another issue but they would be inside the ear buds and sealed off.

If not that, then I did find 'led's smaller than 3mm, I think 1.5mm is the smallest I found so far.

Is there anyone that knows more about this that can shed some light on this? (pun intended)

I was looking around at Radio Shack today at all of the LED's and got the idea to possibly just drill another hole just for the led. Not sure if that will work or not.....but its a starting point anyway.

And all I know about fiber optics is I dont want to mess with it. Too sensitive IMO.

Hi, any progress? Still fluctuation of resistance?

Actually no not anymore no dramatic changes..... Fluctuates between 2.9-3.1 nothing craZy though...

I have very harsh throat hit great Taste but not much vapor...... And this is all with zero nic level

Sent from somewhere in my daily travels....

Even that is not optimal.

Spiral blushing? Hot is too much? Changes in taste genisis smoking?

I'm starting to think about ULRA system for Genisis. Inspired pailpoe. Because it is a solution without quenching.

Anyone here found a solution how to carry a hybrid in a pocket without pushing the switch?
i remember Asad have his button more inside. But are there mor solutions?

'brazileon' has a nice fix too, you can see pics here. I don't know how much pocket carrying I'll do w/ mine, it's pretty hefty, might sag my pants...lol

What do you mean by too sensitive? Yeah, a hole dedicated to the 'led' would be best. I've also seen people adding a 'led' into the CE2's. Would there be any adverse effect of having the 'led' in the liquid itself?
