Someone moved the Recipes forum as a sub forum to this one. Remember, it was at the top of the DIY page? We could easily see if any new posts were made. Now they moved it under the Tips and Tricks so we now have to go back to that page to get to it. Hassle! :glare:

I posted under the Feeback page that it should be put back like it was. Please visit the link and if you agree please state so.

Well, I seldom use the main page. I have bookmarks to access the forums I like to visit including select suppliers, DIY, Classifieds and Swap, Supplier's forum, ect. It prevents a lot of scrolling the main page.

Sooo.... the recipes were at the top of the DIY page and no seperate link or nagavation was needed.

:)

It just involves one extra click for you, if you go to the top of the page it lists the parent forums: E-Cigarette Forum > E-Cigarette Technical > Tips and Tricks > DIY e-liquid
Someone moved the e-liquid Recipes forum Someone moved the e-liquid Recipes forum

Click on Tips and Tricks, then the recipes subforum is there. I agree that it should be a child forum of this one, since it's really DIY e-liquid recipes and this is DIY e-liquid. I wouldn't want people going to the recipes forum from the main page without seeing this one first.

I mentioned on that post that when on the DIY page we could see if any changes were made on the recipe forum simply by glancing up and looking at the last post that was made. That holds true if we are back and forth between reading posts on the DIY page and reviewing new posts on the DIY page. They go hand-in-hand so it makes sense that the recipes would be sub to the DIY page and reinforced by what PureVapor said too.

It's not going to be changed back. Someone complained that they had been around the forums for some time and didn't see the recipe page.

Well duh, if they had been reading the DIY page it was right at the top! Now we have to put up with this cause some noob can't get to the recipes easily and that goes straight back to what Ast_Isis said. They need to learn how to DIY first THEN get to the recipes.

A valid point made! I forget I used to be a newbie, and sometimes still am :)

I don't suppose they asked the follow-on question whether they had seen any subforum not listed on the main page? You see forum headings in large and bold and don't notice the text listing the subforums. The reason was "it will get more hits now"... which could be used to argue for a completely flat structure with no subordinate forums at all.

For moving it back I think playing the safety and liability card is a valid ploy (playing with pure nicotine has got to be more dangerous than unprotected batteries :)) I just referred 2 newbies (different threads) here.

1st thread: "Can I extract nicotine from patches or tobacco or something? I'm thinking I could make my own juice"

2nd thread: "Where can I get pure nicotine in the UK? I was thinking about making my own juice"

My response was basically "nicotine is fatally dangerous in the form you're talking about" and a pointer to DIY where lots of those guys make their own juice and there is plenty of information on the safe care and handling of nicotine and ingredients. Seems logical to go through DIY to get to DIY e-liquid.
