I recently bought an Evod battery (650mAh) just to try it out. I use carto tanks with 2ohm cartomizers. I use them with just about ALL my equipment excepting for VV/VW stuff which I might use 3ohm cartos instead. Anyway...I like the looks of the little Evod, and I have always liked Kanger products, but there is something funny going on with this Evod I have. I swear it is NOT my imagination! lol! There is a funny-funky taste when I use it! It's very slight. More like an additional unexpected odor, really. Enough that I don't like it, though. Almost a chemical like or burnt rubber thing. I'm using the SAME tank, SAME cartomizer that tastes just fine on my eGos (straight voltage) and kGos (unregulated). Tastes fine on my mechanicals, and other mods, too. I only taste that funky whatever-it-is on the Evod ...move the tank off it to another device and things taste fine.

What on earth is going on? I tried swabbing down the whole Evod device with some isoproyl alcohol, but it doesn't seem to have helped all that much. Maybe I need to swab it down more? Maybe it has some sort of coating on it that smells when it gets a bit warm? Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that the Evod isn't one of the recalled ones. I got it at Discount Vapers only about 2 weeks ago...and so far it's recharged okay with a rapid charger. It's just a funny sort of smell..I'm wondering about the rubberized coating on it. It is fine when I first start vaping with it...but after a few puffs that funkiness comes back.

oh yeah..and it's the "wine" or deep red color.
