Hey gang, been vaping ~3 months. I was a dual user for like 3 days and then just looooved vaping and haven't smoked since. However, sometimes, especially when drinking, I still want a cigarette. I used to smoke camel lights, pack a day habit, and I'm looking for your advice on a tobacco juice. Honestly, I've tried a couple, and they just tast like......I dunno.....salted pretzels, lol. Any advice you can offer would be great. I know taste is very, very subjective, but, I'd like to know your thoughts all the same. Thanks in advance!

I've been vaping for about 2 years now, and I find when I still crave a cigarette, it's not so much the flavor I'm looking for as it is a sign I need to temporarily up the strength of my juice for a while. I just had to jump from 6 mg to 12 mg for a while to beat the craving. Or I have to add Whole-Tobacco Alkaloid (WTA) juice to my line-up. Nicotine is not the only psychoactive component in smoke; there are a few other alkaloids that grab us that aren't included in the nicotine. Whole tobacco alkaloid addresses that craving. Check out the WTA juice sellers here - Aroma is one supplier who's on this forum, and there are a couple of others whose names don't come right to mind now. Good luck!

I started vaping at 6, and recently dropped to 3. Maybe there's a correlation there as well. I'll check it out, thanks.

I've been vaping around seven years.......don't ask me why but sometimes under stress I crave a cigarette .....opening a new pack of Marlboro reds, the smell, pulling the first one out....lighting it and that first inhale.....a few times a year it crosses my mind but quickly dissipates......try some halo tobacco juice dubbs (there are others as well) and it will pass

I got those cravings. Some strong ones the first several months, then once in a while after that for about a year. The last ones weren't really cravings, just fleeting thoughts. When I would think of smoking, I would imagine taking one out of the pack, packing it, lighting it, then when I got to the inhaling point in my mind, my brain went, "YUKKKK!!!"

I smoked for ~45 years, knowing I could never quit and was going to die from smoking. In a couple of weeks, I'll be smoke-free three years! I wouldn't have believed that could ever happen!

Finding the right e-liquid is the hardest part, I think. And your taste buds will change over time, too. So just hang in there and don't give up. Best of luck!

well, if you want REALLY true tobacco flavor......then try Black Note eliquid.
it's not meant to taste "good", it's meant to taste like tobacco.

you can't really get any closer to a real cig/cigar type of taste. they don't even put any other flavors in the eliquid, just the extracted tobacco.

just keep in mind that it vapes kinda harsh. so for example if you vape 6mg, then buy 3mg from black note.

I don't really do flavors, but for some reason a while back I picked up a sample pack of Halo tobacco flavored liquids. I smelled them and stuck them away. I only add bit of ethyl maltol to my liquid, but one day I decided to try something different and I added a few drops of their Torque56 instead, and it tasted closer to a cig than anything else has ever tasted to me.

A sample pack makes a nice intro to their liquids and they have a nice variety.

You can up your wattage a bit as well. The WTA's, as mentioned above, and NET, juices (naturally extracted tobacco) help as well. I really like Heathers heavenly vapes Dragons fire, it's a NET juice, hard to define, but it's tobaccoish.
Easy thing if you feel the need for more is to open up the air and crank it up a bit. A true tobacco is hard to find and most are too harsh for long vape sessions. Just my .02

A little Black Cherry mixed in with the Torque 56 is divine. :)

Focus on the ashes... look at smokers with a cigarette and look at the burnt matter on the tip. Think of that carbon and all it contains and that you're actually craving that. Look at the butts on the ground in the ashtrays.. and think about it.

Works wonders to have something to focus on.

I agree with @Imfallen_Angel . Well, for me, I was rather disgusted with all that cigs gave me. The smell, outdoor inconvenience, reduced breath, etc. Every 6 months I get labs done and once a year a chest x-ray. My doctor and I have noticed changes for the better in many areas.

There has to be a bit of attitude about getting away from cigs. Make a list of the crap that smoking did. Remind yourself as to why.

It helped me. Sometimes I get a craving, but it is satisfied by sitting, relaxing, and having a vape.

A bit glad im not the only one feeling this. Me too crave for it. Sometimes i give in, sometimes not. I guess you have to just stay strong. You crave it now, but usually it fades within 20 minutes or so. Just bite through... if it was easy i would have quitted years ago.. :p

I dont think there is a fix for this. At one point in our lives, our brain made the connection that a cigarette is nice. This is so hard wired, that it will take years if not ever to go away.

You know what they say.. once an addict always an addict. The tobacco companies made sure of that.

Taking a stand is not all that hard. I just remember the negatives. I started at a high nic and slowly dropped. I am comfortably sitting at 1.5mg. My life has started to take over my psychological need. I am just busy. I do take breaks and have a vape, but the vape doesn't dictate to me. That is me taking a stand.

It did take time, I admit. But my attitude is that it is sort of disgusting.

I bet if I tried a cig now, I would think it disgusting.

Anyway, keep working it.

An old friend who passed away from smoking related illnesses always used to tell me during the many attempts I made at quitting while he was still alive.

It is OK to want one just don't have it! Wayne Wright

You know thinking of that is one of the reasons I found the strength to become a former smoker and it will be 2 whole years very soon.

Another thing that helps.. visiting the cancer ward at the hospital, or if there's someone dying of emphysema, go spend a few minutes with them.

I watched my father ferry around his oxygen tank for years, watched him wither away, and yet, still sneak a cigarette when he could.

Had vaping existed just 15-20 years ago and I would have managed to get him to switch over, he'd be here today I believe.

It's easy to put your head in the sand and just go with "it's just one".... and sure, for some it will be, for others, it's then another... and another.

It's an addiction, treat it as such... I won't sugarcoat it.

Been there and done that and doing daily filling of portable oxygen tanks for my Dad.
