I wanted to kind of rant/rave a bit but wouldn't dare do this on Volcano's forums (I know better than that anymore) and pretty much leave that place alone these days...

The build quality is def an improvement over the first generation (although mine had scratches in the paint, on the button and the LCD cover-it's being replaced) and the 510 connector is not crooked like it was in the first generation device. That being said I have some negatives that I'm not terribly happy about...

1.) The click button is pretty weak (it's nowhere near as clicky (sound wise) as the first generation button was) and basically I can feel it click but can barely hear it (and there is nothing wrong with my ears.) For me this is a pretty big let down...that is one thing that I was instantly attached with, with the original LT and I really miss this...thought I would get it back with the 2.0 but not the case.

2.) The plus/minus buttons were not centered in their holes on mine, they were both on one side of the hole leaving a large gap on the other side of the button hole, not sure what that was about. Also, I don't know why the buttons are not metal when the body of the device is?

2.) The LCD screen is still blah...it's like a two color display (there is an outside color of really light blue or white and then an inside color of a more blue color but it's not even centered, it's crooked and just makes it look really cheap (it's basically an enlarged version of the original LT display as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure why Volcano won't get some high quality screens, like you find in a Provari for instance.

I'm not sure if I'm keeping the device when I get the replacement or not, I might just sell it since it can't be returned for a refund. I really wanted to like this (I had even sold my original Provari when this thing was suppose to come out months ago) so I could buy this instead and then had to end up buying another one when it was delayed. But for me I'm not sure if it's gonna work out but will see with the new replacement. I def love the color though, I got blue and it's def different from owning black devices.

Just received my v2 today, in blue also. I'm happy with the color, the screen is ok with me (never owned provari though) the device seems solid. 2 gripes, and it really turns me off. 1- the tank sits crooked as crap on top and looks bad sitting so sideways. 2- my lavatube logo sits off center of my buttons and really annoys me. Also, mine has a cutoff of 10the secs, the advertised cutoff is 15 seconds. I've emailed volcano about it to see about doing an exchange just waiting to hear back from them. I guess the 10 sec cutoff I can live with, but the off center logo and sideways tank are driving me nuts

Mine also cuts off at 10 seconds... I have a thread here about it, Lavatube V2 Auto Cutoff I believe is the title...

I have a few retail stores in my immediate area, and I've checked out several Lavatube V2's, and they ALL have had 10 second cutoffs... So, either they need to change the advertised auto cutoff time, or there are a lot of bum devices out there.

My 510 connector was also a bit crooked, so they swapped it out for one that had a straight connector. And I also have the problem with my Lavatube logo being a bit off center of the fire button. The first one I had the logo was straight, but the 510 connector was crooked... This one straight 510, but the logo is off center... Not by much, and it's really a petty gripe, but it's off enough for me to notice and it bothers me. But it certainly doesn't effect performance.

Let me know what you find out about the 10 second cutoff though... I haven't gotten back a response since I did a side by side comparison with 5 other Lavatube V2's... All with 10 second cutoffs... The initial response was, it's supposed to be 15 seconds, so take it back and swap it for another one... Well, yeah, they all have 10 second cutoffs from what I can tell...

After reading this post i think I'll just suck it up. My 510 connector isn't terribly crooked, my logo isn't that bad either. My main concern was the 10 sec cutoff because of what is advertised. I really do like the mod. The color, the performance, the feel, everything is on point. The petty gripes about the connector and the slightly off-center logo is just something I'll have to come to terms with. It is a mass-produced Chinese mod....... so oh well. I had contacted Volcano CS and they were very prompt in responding back stating they would exchange mine for me. Even emailed a prepaid shipping stamp. However, after hearing that all the ones you checked cutoff @ 10sec i guess mines not defective. Plus, who wants to wait on vape mail all week just to send it back and wait some more?

I just recently picked on up and I went to a local shop to pick it up. I guess I am glad I did. The display one I was looking at had a slightly off 510 connection and quietly asked the guy to see another one to get a straight one. They had no problems with that. I don't have any other problems other than it still firing for a split second after letting go of the button but I think a lot of chinese mods react this way. I mostly got it just to have one since I have so many other mods to use.
What are you guys using to have even a 10 second vape that you need 15? I don't think I have ever gone past 6 second even on my Zap.

I don't think it's so much of what i need a 15 sec cutoff for. It's more of 15 sec is what was advertised so that's what i expected. I still have a few days before my shipping label times out, and i may send it back to at least have a properly seated connection. They've changed the description on the site now and it no longer say "15 second cutoff"

Still says:

Auto Shutoff: If the activation button is held down for 15 seconds or longer, the LAVATUBE Version 2 will shut itself off until the button is released to prevent overheating the atomizer and the device.

In the product description... :/

I like to pre heat my coil a bit and give a few "prime puffs" before I take a draw on my AGA-T... So it would be nice if it did go for 15 seconds. I hit the 10 second limit all the time...

Just want to update you guys keeping up with this post.

Sent my LTv2 in last week for warranty, figured what the heck.... let em take a look at it. The got it back Friday. On Monday i wake up and have an email from volcano!! Sweet, gonna get my device back this week........ so i thought. The email was a "refund conformation" SAY WHAT! ?!?!?! I didn't want a refund, i want my lavatube back. Anyways, the conformation email was kinda unclear. Didn't say when i would get my refund deposited back in my account and so on. No big deal, i emailed CS just to get a for sure that i was being refunded and nit getting my device back. Since Monday I've sent 2 emails and a voice message and can't get a response. And still don't have $80 in my account. All i want to know is DO I NEED TO BUY ANOTHER MOD OR IS MY LTv2 BEING SENT BACK.

when you are responding to CS are you responding to the email sent or are you creating a new ticket? If you are responding to the email sent to you, it may be in the RMA department that is a no response department. We have also been having issues with our phone lines this week.

If you have not already please create a new ticket with us explaining everything and we will get things straightened out for you.

I seem to have a small delay in between pushing the button and getting the liquid hot enough to vape or even sizzle. I know that it takes a moment to heat the coil, but I mean a longer delay than I think should be there, but only slightly - under 2 seconds. So I just heat the coil, pull a primer hit if necessary, release the button and pull again to get my full draw before the cutoff. It's not so difficult to hit the button twice that I can't do it. Only a most minor inconvenience. Still very happy with the product and the service I receive at my local Volcano store.
