I wanted to kind of rant/rave a bit but wouldn't dare do this on Volcano's forums (I know better than that anymore) and pretty much leave that place alone these days...
The build quality is def an improvement over the first generation (although mine had scratches in the paint, on the button and the LCD cover-it's being replaced) and the 510 connector is not crooked like it was in the first generation device. That being said I have some negatives that I'm not terribly happy about...
1.) The click button is pretty weak (it's nowhere near as clicky (sound wise) as the first generation button was) and basically I can feel it click but can barely hear it (and there is nothing wrong with my ears.) For me this is a pretty big let down...that is one thing that I was instantly attached with, with the original LT and I really miss this...thought I would get it back with the 2.0 but not the case.
2.) The plus/minus buttons were not centered in their holes on mine, they were both on one side of the hole leaving a large gap on the other side of the button hole, not sure what that was about. Also, I don't know why the buttons are not metal when the body of the device is?
2.) The LCD screen is still blah...it's like a two color display (there is an outside color of really light blue or white and then an inside color of a more blue color but it's not even centered, it's crooked and just makes it look really cheap (it's basically an enlarged version of the original LT display as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure why Volcano won't get some high quality screens, like you find in a Provari for instance.
I'm not sure if I'm keeping the device when I get the replacement or not, I might just sell it since it can't be returned for a refund. I really wanted to like this (I had even sold my original Provari when this thing was suppose to come out months ago) so I could buy this instead and then had to end up buying another one when it was delayed. But for me I'm not sure if it's gonna work out but will see with the new replacement. I def love the color though, I got blue and it's def different from owning black devices.
