Hi everybody.
So I just came out from my local vape shop and the guy who was working told me that the Sony factory burnt down a while ago. he said that they will no longer be making Sony vtc5 anymore. He did say however that they are planning to make another factory somewhere to continue making the vtc4. I am not sure if this is true and I don't really have the time to research anything about this. If anyone has information on this please comment what you know. These are the only batteries I trust lol

It's windy, USA
Hey mate,

What appears to have happened is that they still make them, but it's hard for individuals to get them. They had to close one of their battery manufacturing facilities due to Fukushima, and while they've built a new factory (phillipines or south america, can't remember) like semiconductors it can take a good while to get manufacturing capacity back up. Until then, the big buyers with contracts get much of what's made, and because of the value of their name they are highly, highly counterfeited.

Not cloned -- counterfeited. Inside will often be an LG or samsung rewrapped if you're lucky, and something way worse if you aren't. Buying one is really risky right now, with even well-regarded vendors having been duped. There are some other solid batteries out there right now -- you might want to look into the samsung 25R.
