I have 2 sony vtc4s that are less than a month old. I was not allowing time between discharge and charging on my nitecore i4. I have been noticing some decreased performance lately. Today I had them fully charged, and I put a fresh one in. I was tinkering with my coils and testing different wicking methods. within 20 minutes It was noticeably weaker. I put it back on my charger and it was only at 1 of 3 bars. have I essentially killed my batteries?

I thought these batteries would be better. I too am noticing performance issues. After about an hour of vaping on .3 to .6 ohm coils there is a significant difference in vapor production and flavor. I put in an AW battery and its great.

I have 4 more VCT4s coming and then I have VCT5s right behind those. I hope this is just a bad battery. Mind you I charged the battery before I used it, allowed a complete drain, and recharged each time.

An AW batt on a .3-.6 coil? Sounds like you could be asking for trouble.

yea I took a fully charged one out around 2 am and have let it sit until now (7am) to see if resting would help, but after 10 minutes there was a serious noticeable drop in production. I put it back on the charger to see the charge and it was already at 1/3 charge. I must have seriously messed up the batteries from not letting them rest, because I don't know why else month old vtc4s would be almost dead after 10 minutes of use

I have the same batteries and charger. I used a battery all day yesterday with a .8ohm coil and its at 3.65 volts now. The one that sat all day yesterday is at 4.21 volts. These batteries are 1 week old. These are the 1st Mod batteries I have ever owned and I guess they are working fine. When I 1st saw them I wondered if I got genuine Sony batteries because they do not say Sony anywhere on them. Do yours look like mine?

yes exactly like yours. There is some fine black print that says vtc4 and some other stuff on the side of them, pretty sure I see the same thing in your pic. Mine are a month or so old, but Ive had a bad habit of using them hallway then putting them back on the charger, and grabbing another without letting it rest and using that etc. I think I must have just messed with them too much. STILL that seems like a small amount of abuse for them to be shot already

Do you check the voltage before you recharge them? I charge mine when they are between 3.6 and 3.7 volts.
I do not understand the resting part very well but I do know that rechargeable batteries do not like to be too warm or cold when charged. My phone and cordless drill will not allow a charge if too warm or too cold. I would at least let a freshly used battery cool to room temperature before putting it in the charger. :2c:
