I just ordered and received 3 vtc5 s from vapor dna for 30 bucks that's the best place I've found. The difference is the orbtronic batteries I believe are a panasonic ncr18650b with a added protection circuit, making then a tiny bit longer.
Personally I'd go with the vtc5. It's always been a winner vtc3or4's or 5's

No, the Orbtronic ORB25 is not a Panasonic NCR18650B. The NCR18650B 3400mah is not even a high drain battery and only has a 6.8 amp limit. The ORB25 is a different battery altogether: high drain with 25 amps continuous and 2500mah.

The new Orbtronic's Orbtronic SX30 is also a different battery.

  • Sony vtc5 2600mah 30 amps
  • Orbtronics ORB25 2500mah 25 amps
  • Orbtronics SX30 2100mah 30 amps

Spec-wise its hard to beat the Sony.

I'll add this on the end of the other - the orbies are great in the 3.7v range and take ages to drop off, so the basic idea is you drop a wrap from your coil so that as the battery drains, you are in that "flat" area of the battery discharge curve for longer. I use a 0.7Ω coil and can just about squeeze a working day from them.

But vtc5's if it were my cash. On the other side of the coin - i use a mech, so my desk has on it MNKEs, Samsungs and about 11 orbies, from PDs to SX30s.

They also ship free and since i only change them at about 3.6v, the performance below that is irrelevant to me, because that is the point at which they feel weak.

If you calculate your amp pull you'll know which will last you longer, as i find the batteries that arent being pushed to their limits last a bit longer in relation to a battery with the same mah rating. So the most you can pull with a .5 is around 18 amps, if you use a regulated device, so the vtc5's and the 30a orbtronic would be your best bet
