I've noticed a strange phenomenon. If you spin your batteries while they're charging, the voltage will change. Especially toward the end of the charge

I first thought it was a fluke or coincidence at first. When all I had was my tenergy charger, sometimes I'd bump the batteries, causing them to spin, which sometimes resulted in the light going from red to green. I thought it was weird but that's all.

Now that I've got my xtar with digital readout, I know for a fact the the voltage does indeed change when spun. Especially when completing a charge. Albeit the change is very very minimal, but still. They will change -/+ 0.01-0.03v. Why?

You are changing the acid position in the cells. The same effect can be seen in a tv remote when the batteries first get too low to work, if you open the cover and spin the batteries, they will work again for a few more days.

Any way to use this to our advantage?

It is possible that you might be able to squeak a bit more power into the battery. Kind of like topping off your gas tank after the pump stops the first time. I doubt it would be a noticeable difference though. Maybe last a few minutes longer.

Never thought of that, I always figured it was minimal electrolysis causing oxidation at the point of contact.
