Spitback/Popping

Hey everyone! Newbie Question here.

So when I am trying to get more clouds and I turn the wattage up I get spitback/popping. I always heard spitback happens with not enough wattage.. not when you turn it up higher. So I am a bit confused. This happens in wattage mode or when I turn the temp up in TC.

Sounds like the coil is flooded. What tank are you using?

I only have rda's, no rta's.

Sounds like you have uneven cotton, search "Scottish Roll" on youtube.

The only other major cause is hotspots on your coil, make sure to rake and press your coils until they glow evenly..

Agreed. That also happens when the cotton is too saturated. Happened to me when I first started with RDA's.

Those are all good answers. You might also try using heavier wire to wind your coils, if you want higher wattage. Try twists or Clapton coils as well. Welcome to the board.

wick is loose in the coil... try making your wicks a bit thicker...
