I got the usual "Are you still smoking?". And I was ready to jump all over it this time! :D

Surprisingly I thought I would face some skepticism when I explained that I switched from cigarettes to an electronic cigarette. But instead she asked many questions and seem to be very interested in them.

I explained to her the pro's and con's and the research I did before buying one. And I told her that after only a week of using my e-cig instead of smoking my Pall Mall's that my lungs are already clearing up, I can breath through my nose again, my sense of taste and smell are coming back AND that nasty case of bronchitis that I feel like I've had for over a year is gone within a week.

She said she thought that was pretty amazing and was going to do some research into them. I can only hope she may suggest them to other patients who need to quit, or at least want to switch to what I believe is a healthier habit.

Ohh and btw, another nifty side affect..... I am on meds for mildly high blood pressure. My pressure was 112 over 74. She was amazed. :)

Yes, I told her. She didn't seem concerned about it, or at least didn't saying anything if she was. But she did agree when I said I thought trading 4,000 chemicals in a cigarette for a couple food and pharmaceutical grade chemicals was a good trade off. :)

I guess I was really surprised she had never heard of them. I told my girlfriend last night that I believe, should e-cigs be proven to have no long term negative effects, whoever invented them should win the Nobel Prize for health some day. Sounds funny, but I keep thinking about the millions of lives they may save and prolong.

If you're on blood pressure meds, that's probably why your blood pressure tested normal. But quitting smoking is the best thing you could have done for yourself. And now you'll never have to answer "yes" again to that awful question you always get in doctor's offices..."are you a smoker?" Good job!

I'm very glad to hear that you feel better. I smoked Pall Mall's very breifly. They were just too much for me and I was a heavy smoker.

Keep up the good work and your blood pressure sounds very good.

Well I was on blood pressure meds, and I still have high bp. Those kinds of numbers for me, I haven't seen since I was 20. :D

But since switching to vaping, it has dropped a good margin and going to speak with doctor next month about reducing the meds I am on, don't think I require as high a dose anymore.

Wouldn't that be Fantastic to be both Free of Smoking and to be Reducing you need for BP meds?

Right On !!! :)

I started vaping after a nasty case of bronchitis in March. I went to the doctor recently and he was surprised at how clear my lungs were. When I told him about vaping he said he hadn't seen or read anything about it BUT if I never smoked another analog he was all for it.

Also a co-worker of mine is a smoker and has MS. She recently went to her doctor and he was telling her how smoking is even worse for someone with MS. She told him about my vaping and how easily I quit analogs. His advise......start vaping. I gave her some of my spare batteries and cartridges to try. She liked it, ordered her own supplies and has been happily vaping for several weeks now and feels great!

I paid a visit to my doc last Friday... I was a pack a day (a little more if I went out to the bar) for 25 years. Slightly elevated BP with every visit to the doc. Twice I had episodes of A-Fib in the past two years which caused my doctor concern. This was the first visit since I dropped the analogs and started vaping, and I was only into the vaping by 15 days exactly... BP at the time of the visit was 128/87 --- not only amazed me, but my doctor as well. My lungs, well, still a little congested, but he said he noticed that I seemed to have a very different attitude than normal when I would come in. (Been going to him for almost 8 years, and he's one of those "old fashioned" docs who actually spend time getting to know his patients... reminded me of my family doc when I was a kid).

I told him I switched to the eCig, even showed him everything... his first words were - GOOD FOR YOU!!! He knew about them, understood them, and said that it was the best move he's seen me take since I'd come in to his office 8 years ago. He told me to be aware that I'll have some issues with my lungs clearing up - that I'll notice it actually and feel like I'm getting a cold but it'll pass quickly, and when it does, I'll notice an even bigger difference. (I'm assuming that he has other patients vaping? Didn't even think to ask... will do so next time I have to see him, or take the kids in).

None the less, I got the stamp of approval from my Doc and that's an A+ in my book!

By the way, I have noticed a marked improvement in how my heart feels in contrast to how it would feel after an analog. I used to feel my heart start racing every now and then for no apparent reason quite often - usually two or three times a week. I have been trying to keep a log of how I felt each day since switching, and personally - I can't for the life of me think of feeling my heart race in about 8 or 9 days...

Is there a marked feeling of improved health? There may not be hard medical evidence, but reading many posts here, and my own personal experience, its about time someone start a study and see what really comes up...
