Squid Industries paint job with crucifix

Hey everyone.

I have a Squid Industries V2 white camo. Got really worn down so I decided to sand it down to make it amazing.

I want to put a golden crucifix cross on the side opposing the Squid Industries label, to make it genuinely one of a kind.

Would black seem too boring and look like the black they already supply? I was originally wanting to make it look brass, then I thought of a cross "which I don't have or know where or how' and changed my mind.

Suggestions!

I'd say micromesh polish it and engrave the design, keep it simple and clean @USArmyVetLivingAustralia.

So you end up with something a little different from this.

What would be the end result with that? Natural alloy yet highly polished?

What grit sandpaper do you use? looks pretty coarse, like 80-120. I would use a higher grit like 280-320 for a better finish

That's what I was going to say. If the mod is completely dis-assembled then consider "wet and dry" sandpaper and water.

What do y'all think of a color, or all recommending shiny silver? With a shiny gold cross?

While I think shiny silver would be beautiful the finger prints would drive me batty. If going shiny the gold crucifix would be my choice. With a brushed silver I'd prefer a brushed darker bronze. In a perfect world gunmetal/ bronze.

Adding a bit of soap/dishwashing liquid to water also helps

Could just use that cross as a vape charm and give the mod a light polish. Quite liking the rustic look.

Regardless which cross i think I'm going to be bending it to wrap it around a bit too, forgot to mention that.

Are you going to use the metal cross to add to the mod (glue I assume) or are you aiming to use the cross as a template for a painted pattern?

Yeah I'm thinking about an actual cross glued on somehow. Starting to think more about that Celtic like cross.
