SuperSonic....EXCELLENT troubleshooting and observation skills. Swap out the button/switch with Bruce and let us know how it works.

Thank you Para.... and thanks for all your advice throughout!

Peace bro -

Get a fuse upgrade along with a button while you are at it.

You will have a more positive tighter lock up for the connections than the spring.

Glad to help, help.

Serpent - Great idea with the fuse assembly. I was going to invest in this piece from the beginning but at the time Imeo was discussing the VV option for the GGTS along with the P&P in another thread, and figured that the two components would counter each other and cause issues. I plan on purchasing the VV option for my GGTS.

What I always say.... when in doubt.... don't do it or wait for the answer with patience.....

My own advice has not taken me a stray thus far.....

Again gents.... I thank you for your continued input.

I will continue to post the results of my quest for "that perfect fire every time" as I await the vendor's response....

Peace-

SS, I didn't thoroughly read the whole thread, but do you have another button that does work well or is this your only one? If it's your only one and you send it to Imeo, leaving you without any button, I have an extra 2012 button and can loan you one to use in the meantime while you're waiting for a replacement to arrive

Hi, I got my new GGTS a few days ago. It is really very nice and the workmanship is superb. However, I get some misfires with my new shorter ss button switch. The problem is getting worse everyday. I have done many adjustments with the button switch but I still get many misfires. Sometimes, you really have to press the button really hard to fire it. I believed the center pin of the switch assembly is the culprit. It is too short in the sense that when you press the button, the button already touches the locking nut. It can not go deeper further to really touch the axis of the end cap. That is not the case in the older version of the button switch. I have just reviewed the review video of Scott Bonner and it showed that in his older switch, there is still some space between the button and the locking nut. which means the center pin had already touched the axis and there was still allowance for the center pin to go deeper if it did not touch the axis yet.

I hope Imeo will explain to us why this is happening to our new GGTS. Thanks.

thank you so much Supersonic, for your work and analysis. Your descriptions and experience match mine perfectly. I have been struggling with misfires almost since day one, and thought it was just me not getting along with the GG button.
I have now preordered a brass axis and a new button with brass pin from goldengreek.co.uk. Hopefully all the brass will result in the assembly making better contact.
Right now, i'm using a spring from a ballpoint pen. It's far from 100%, but its the best i've used yet. I use a Kick in the GGTS, and while it does seem to amplify the problems, it's a really great combination when it works :)

I've done a few things with all my GGTS's but it's hard to say which made the most difference. All I know is that they all fire perfectly with or without kick, every single time. I know most of this stuff has been mentioned but some of it is in other threads.

1) Changed SS pin in new adjustable throw buttons with brass pin.
2) Changed button to really short throw.
3) Cleaned all threads and added a small amount of Noalox, vaselne or no-ox-id work as well. Noalox has to be used in very small amounts the other options are probably better.
4) Reversed battery post spring so it goes small end down.
5) Cleaned all contacts and brass centre post with 99% Isopropyl alcohol as well as battery contacts and kick contacts.
6) Changed button spring to magnets.
7) Stopped using AW IMR batteries with the kick period. The problem with AW IMR's is that they voltage drop a lot under load. The kick will read the voltage as too low when the batteries are still fine and cause a mis-fire. The Panasonic CGR18650 Hybrid IMR drops voltage drops very little under load. So from the mid life of the battery to the end life of the battery there are no issues with the kick shutting down because of low current.

I know it's a little late in this thread but this might help someone.

I just got a second hand SS GGTS and I have been having the same issues. Where can I get a brass pin?

Is your battery post brass Murdock? The brass pin is for the brass post and ss pin for the ss post.

All the new batch came with both pins. I'd shoot Justin(JthaBigVapor) a PM on the CoV board, he might be able to help you out if they are not on the CoV site.

If I had an extra I'd send it your way.
