Hello all,
So.. I ordered my SS GGTS, and now i need batteries :D

On my 1day GGTB i used AW 17670 (i know they are good, but expensive ones).. But since i already sold it, i had to sold with batteries.
So now im looking for some bateries for my incoming SS GGTS.

Im thinking on using 18650, and there's alot of batteries out there.. So i need a help on wich fit the GGTS SS.

Trustfire Batteries - $7.93 - TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2400mAh 2-Pack Gray) - Batteries

Charger - $6.87 - DSD 18650 CR123A Charger Black - Chargers

Will those do?
What others u recommend? Site (pref european, so they ship them faster)?

uhm, ye, i first bought the AW ones for my GGTB (17670), they are kinda expensive (price for 1 its the higher then 2 from that blankFires ones), but since i had to sell them with the GGTB, i gotta buy new ones for the GGTS :\

the thing is that i dont really get whats difference on the high drain and protected batteries?
for example, found this Pesquise ULTRAFIRE WF-139 Ladegerät und 2x 18650 Akku m. PCB NEU no Mercado internacional eBay, com negócios mundiais de artigos nas suas quatro categorias principais. Todos os artigos podem ser enviados para o seu país! (seller is from germany, 321mcspeck its a known site i think), and for the price i get 2 batteries and a charger.. while with this price i could only bought 1AW and charger..

is the price really worth it? between a blankfire and AW/IMR?
i could buy 2 AW IMR ( AW IMR 18650 Rechargeable Safe Chemistry Battery ) or 2 AW protected ( AW 18650 2200 MAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery ).. what would be the difference on those? what u recommend?

sorry for all the questions :p

+1 on this i use AW's on all my big battery mods but do have a couple of trustfires and ultrafires which perform well.
For 6v i use Tenergy LiFepo 4 i think ripple has mentioned you can get these from amazon fairly cheap and 10 at a time for $32.00 from Amazon.com or $58 with a charger

Get the safe chemistry ones they are more stable and less likely to explode if you get a short.
As a general rule i don't buy batteries from ebay i did do once and found them to be crap not holding a full charge.
Best to buy from a good source as i said get those lifepo's you can run a 3.4 Ohm atty at 6 volts and that is sweet

+1 for safe chemistry batteries!
I only use LiMn batteries. I have a couple of AW 18650's that are about a year old and theyre still fine.
I also have chinese no-name LiMn's and while not quite up to AW standards, they are great for the price.
The no-names can be had in europe, i've found some here:
IMR 18650 - 1400mAh HIGH DRAIN 3.7v BDL Battery - ECig Wizard

The difference between the protected and high drains is that the high drains are a safer chemistry so no need for protection and the high drains will run at a higher voltage for longer throughout the charge, so they stay at closer to 4volts for longer which is what I prefer. The drawback of the high drains is that they have less mah which means they will not last as long but I am totally fine with the tradeoff. The way I look at batteries is if you are spending 200bucks plus on a mod why skimp on the batteries? I would rather put the best inside the best. I think the quality far outweighs the savings but thats my opinion.

you could check here for shipping costs and grab the chargers that AW recommends for these batteries, namely the WF-139 (good) or the Pila IBC 4 Stage charger (best). or you could order the batteries from AW directly outside this forum. you'll honestly be better off with the AW2600 protected li-ion over the IMR in terms of performance throughout the cycle, but if you like the idea of "safer" chemistry, go with the IMR, but be very mindful of over-discharging (shorting) and seriously consider a quality charger like the Pila that will never overcharge the battery.

yep it's a pretty noticeable difference throughout the charge cycle. that's an earlier model, replaced by the 2600, but still in production and it's of value for other mods because of its nipple top. but you don't need a nipple top on the GG so the extra runtime and amperage available in the 2600 is worth the extra money...the 2900 not so much...great battery, but the 2600 for the money and pretty much everything you'll ask and expect of it is the best bet for an 18650.
