MVP is miles above the plastic groove in terms of build quality, but I haven't seen or held a SS Groove so I cannot comment on that. I would imagine the build quality to be the same, just in a SS shell rather than plastic. I notice things like crooked screen and usb connector in PBusardos comparison video there (again plastic Groove).

I dropped my MPV and it broke. I think the Groove is better built myself and I have both. I prefer the Groove for several reasons, it has a longer lasting battery, I like the top power button placement, it has VW which I really like, it reads resistance and it uses the same charger as my cell phone which makes it nice while traveling.:)

I'm not positive you were asking me or not. But I'll answer anyway if I may. I opened it up, took the battery out and put it back in sideways. Added some wire. Cut the rest of the now empty bottom off. I think mutilate is a little harsh...lol Let call it a home modification:toast:
I'm actually quite pleased with the result. I can now put my Gripper VV with the broken battery door to rest.:D

If I get hospitalized again it will be a godsend to have both the mvp and the groove. Last time it was a hassle setting up the charger for my aw's. I had to take it out and put it back in my backpack. Hell I'm usually there only about 3-4 days so fully charged both units would be enough to last me without charging.

If it's easy to open it up I wonder if the battery is changeable.

The batteries look like two regular 1900mah 3.7v cell phone batteries wired together to get the high 3800mah capacity. Very very easy to replicate. On second thought, I'm sure I could find some 2400mah 3.7v batteries or higher even, strap those together. How about only needing to charge once a week, or maybe once a month?:p Sounds good to me.

just my :2c: but I have an MVP, and for the past two months its been my going to work MOD. The battery life is awesome, but the thing that really has it on my list of a must have as a durable work MOD is the build quality. In my line of work it would need to be well built and durable because its on me at all times and I work 10 hours a day as a pipefitter, so it gets put through some harsh conditions.

wrong. Read this thread. What you're saying might be do-able, I don't know, but they stack batteries to get the volts higher.

MVP has 2 stacked 2200mah batteries, but is truly only 2600mahs in total, not 4400mahs. The Groove probably has something like two stacked 3400mah batteries to get the volts high and the final mahs at 3800, not two 1900mah batteries like you say. I guess the mahs aren't written on the Groove's batteries.

lol that you butchered that mod like that with electrical tape and all to save half an inch but made the other way bigger to fit in your shirt pocket. Looks like a terrorist device if you're not vaping it.
