I'm pulling my order for the SS VTube and getting The VMax! I just don't see myself investing money in a device for its looks! I'd rather have BOTH looks and performance and I know I will find that in the VMax! The Provari is a bit out of my price range, but I will get one soon! Time to call you know who for a refund!

Think about this then make your own decision....

A single battery setup running at maxx setting in vv mod.... the battery is running at max all the time.

A stacked battery setup running at maxx setting is NOT running batteries at maxx as they are regulated down.

A battery running wide open all the time..... now is that good ?

If they are using PWM to bring the voltage down, the batts are at max too, just being switched on/off to get the percentage of max voltage you have it set at. I doubt either "method" of getting the voltage is safer than the other. The quality of the circuitry and components would have a bigger effect on safety. I've got both types of VV mods and feel confident with both. I use high drain batteries in both though. The Vmax looks nice, seems more like a BuzzPro, with meter and buttons, to me. The Provari boosts a single battery.

I want to know how a mod with a 5 amp limit has any overdischarge protection. I am a believer in having a device that can handle any carto or atty I have, but there really does have to be a limit somewhere for over discharge. 5 amps is getting in to the "it's too late" territory if there is a short or a weak cell. By the time 5 amps is coming out of a pair of in series batts, it might be too late to do anything about what comes next.

To answer your question regarding prevention of overdischarges.

I asked Smoktech about this myself, i wanted to make sure what ever device i was selling would be safe.

Their reply was that the advanced pcb and microprocessor would shutdown everything before anything would happen.

As they said "We are not interested in destroying ourselfs with unsafe products".

Their engineer assured me they have throughly testet the device.

That being said i have not myself had a chance of testing the device as i am still waiting for samples.

Good enough for me! We all know the Chinese manufacturers are very forthcoming with accurate answers regarding the safety of the products they sell. It's not like they would sell tainted milk and infant formula to their own people, or send toys painted with lead-based paint all over the world, or poisoned pet food and toothpaste. Oh wait -- they did all those things.

Sorry, but I take safety claims from Chinese manufacturers with a grain of salt. They also claim cheap chrome-plated tanks and drip tips are "polished aluminum" or "stainless steel" when they are clearly neither. When questioned, they claim they can't be certain they are either or neither.

I'm all for getting good mods into the hands of people who want and need to get off analogs, but I'm always wary of the claims of manufacturers based in China, especially regarding safety.

I am not saying you should blindly put your faith in anything you hear, but from a business perspective what they are saying makes perfect sense.

They at least went through some trouble to get the legal documents in order as they have both Certificate of conformity and Roh on the device according to eu legslation and safety law.

In the E-cig business that´s as good a guarantee as you are going to get.

They offered to send me a "personal tester / review unit" if I had a store and ordered the MOQ

I would set up a fake store front and do a coop, but it would have to be under the radar.

I'm just suggesting a bit of prudence and caution. They aren't known for a great safety record.

I am glad to hear they put together the legal documentation, I'm just not sure if I'd trust it, based on their track record with safety issues.

I am opening a new ecig store as soon as the design is finished it will be up, it was a major hazzle to get samples, they keep them very close. Lucky they realised no sane person would order 50 units of anything without some sort of sample.
