I wonder if it would be feasible to machine SS replacement cups that go on top of the ceramic cup in CE2's..they probably would have to be a bit taller so a thin o-ring could be put into the race on the bottom of the cup that comes into contact with the ceramic plus a race on the side for an o-ring.
Not sure about fill holes as they would have to be really close to the ceramic so they didn't go into the outside o-ring or they could be machined really close to the outside so the filling needle could either tear the o-ring a little or slide past it..also a little issue I could see here is if it was sealed too good and you tried to add liquid through the fill hole it might not go in.
This could eliminate any burnt taste in these cartomizers..they would have to be somewhat a tight fit but not too tight. I'm sure someone with experience in machining could do this pretty easily..If I had the tools I might be able to make them myself with some practice..if it worked out who knows they might sell a little too.
If anybody decides to try this ever let me know and if the cost is reasonable enough I might want like 10 of them..one thing nice about this idea if it worked is if I got a few of them I could use them over and over as only the o-ring would wear out. BTW I give this idea freely for anybody to use if they wanted.
Edit: Another thing that I just thought of is the inner part of the cup couldn't come too close to the coil as it could short it out..so the inner part of it would have to be shorter than the original rubber cups..or maybe a notch that matches the notches on the outside for the wicks and a warning to anybody that used them to make sure put in right and the coil didn't touch.
