Stainless Steel Temp Control on the Evic Mini

Hi everyone,

The Evic Mini was recently upgraded to handle SS temperature control, and I am interested in trying it. I have an Aspire Triton and noticed the default sub ohm coils are SS (.3ohm and .4ohm). Would these be suitable for TC or would I need a special TC-SS coil. If my understanding is correct, it shouldn't matter.

In a regulated mod resistance does not dictate battery draw, set watts does.

It'll work fine.

How i set the mini up:

Start in VW mode, start low and turn the wattage up until you get the vape you want.

Then switch to TC mode.

Set the watts the same as in VW mode and turn the "temp" all the way up (600F).

Using a mirror watch the "temp" as you take a normal puff. Remember the highest "temp" that you saw.

Set the "temp" limiter 10*F above that number.

Enjoy.

The VTC Mini has had an SS TC setting since V2.0 software.

I doubt you will find many who recommend using nickel or titanium in VW mode for any reason. Not talking about dry burning cotton or hot legs, you can glow nickel or titanium with a wet wick in VW. You are picking nits with "regeneration inhibitor" and "possible carcinogen"", and by all means if you wish to use nickel and titanium in VW mode knock yourself out, but refrain from recommending reckless procedures to others.

Unless I am missing something, I can't find any way to set a TCR on my mini. Perhaps you are thinking of the DNA200? On that I have one profile for stainless steel (316L) set with the .00092 tcr and another with a .csv created by D. Jaquith. Both work well...

My VCT Mini has TCR but I don't use it.

Scroll through the settings. Power/bypass/Ni/Ti/SS/TCR.

I don't use it so can't say more about it then its there.

Thanks, yeah I just did the upgrade. Now when you change a setting in Ni, it changes Ti and SS also to that setting. And the TCR mode gives 3 options - M1 M2 M3. What the heck is that? Will have to do a little research here, but I feel a V3.1 coming in the near future lol.

Yesterday we got TCR Adjust, and a new screen layout.
