I was looking at the Vamo kit on zainy.net and luckily before I got it learned that the stainless version was coming out.

Is there anywhere that offers a kit like the zainy one (2 18350's, charger, 2 vivi nova's, and Vamo) for a price that is somewhere in that ballpark ($52)?

I really want the kit because I have none of the things that come with it so it makes it a really good value for me but I can only find kits in version 1 or chrome ones.

I doubt there is much value in that kit...I'd prefer brand name batteries and chargers that are trusted and I doubt those Novas are Vision anyways...so who knows how they will work or last. I've had batteries and chargers from kits in the past...none are still around. You will save money in the long run by avoiding kits.

Thanks b0redagain. Id love to get quality stuff but its going to cost twice as much by the time I buy batteries and chargers. I know the nova's are probably knock offs but I was willing to give them a shot.

The cheap batteries and chargers, did they die or did you just decide to not use them in light of better options?

The version 2 has some bugs ironed out. Most importantly a longer/better spring so AW 18650's work in them.

The stainless steel is desirable because there are issues with the finish quickly wearing off with the others.

One charger burned up, one just quit working, I sold the other one. All of the batteries stopped holding a good charge, faster than most name brand batteries.

Also, not really twice the price, you're looking at about $75...or less if you just go with Kanger T3's (work better anyways)?

I ended up getting a SS Vamo in a Co-Op. Any suggestions on where to get cheap, good, batteries and a charger. I don't really care if they only last like say 6 months or something if its a substantial savings because money is fairly tight right now. If there is a huge difference between the cheaper ones and ones that cost a little more id rather get ones that cost a little more.

P.s. im looking for 18350''s since they offer the most versatility in the Vamo.

Efest batteries are really very good - and cheap!
I'd recommend an Xtar WP6 (about $35) or if you're only a really tight budget, the TrustFire TR-001 which is about $10.
The 001's are supposedly more reliable than the 003's - avoid the Ultrafire and Trustfire batteries and obviously don't use anything other than IMR batteries.

That charger?

What is bad about Ultrafire batteries. Sorry im a total battery n00b. Im going to search around but if you have a link to comparison of battery types it would be appreciated.

That's the charger.

Most Ultrafire batteries don't have the correct specified mah rating on them, they have a poor discharge output - avoid them.
The Efests are practically as good as the AW's but for half the price.

You may try also the XTAR WP2 II charger, it's one of the best I know of and you can find it for some 20 bucks on ebay; personally I'd steer clear of the Ultra/TrustFire chargers, they're cheap but not very efficient/durable (I had 2 of them die on me in less than 6 months)

About the batteries: if you can, go with IMR (Li-Mn) batteries like AW of Efest: they have a better discharge rate (power) and are made with a safer chemistry than Li-Ion batteries - so don't need a protection circuit, which very often trips on variable voltage/wattage mods.

Batteries comparison sites:

Torchy the Battery Boy: IMR "safe chemistry" batteries

Also, comparison of some chargers:

Hope this helps
