Hey all. Just got my eGo kit today with a standard atty and an LR atty. Any words of wisdom as far as how to use each differently? How about maintenance? I was a cartomizer guy previously, so the whole concept of attys is kind of foreign to me. Any advice would be much appreciated. :)

Your LR atomizer is going to use juice a lot more quickly, so be prepared for that.

If you're dripping, you'll have to drip more often.
If you're using cartridges, you'll top off and/or refill more often.

Also, it's a good idea to blow the atomizer out completely at least once each day.
Although a lot of people just let it drain overnight, cartridge end down, on a paper towel.

There is chatter about LR atty's and battery life. There is also some sort of issues as far as the switch and LR atty's. There are numerous threads about it on ECF.

Here is one that you might find interesting:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/madvapes/127262-about-low-resistance-specific-batteries.html

I have seen several eGo kits listed as coming with one 510 atty and one LR atty. I am wondering IF those suppliers are willing to honor the warranty when an LR atty kills a battery or a switch.

I will not use an LR atty on any of my eGos.

Yeah, DC... I made the mistake of not getting all the primer out before firing it up, and now one of my carts has that ick flavor seemingly stuck in it. Any tips on how to get rid of that?
So it sounds like you're using cartridges then.

If you have a taste or flavor you want to get out of a cartridge you can just wash the filler material.
Just take the filler out and hold it under running water while squeezing the juice out, then press it dry between a folded paper towel.

The panic really sets in when your batteries are dropping dead all around you!!!

I'll give that statement a Big - Amen. I've read about new batts, old batts, and middle aged batts dropping dead and the culprit is LR attys. I am not stupid. I can read. I do believe there to be some truth to this because it has happened to many people. I am going to learn from those experiences so I can avoid losing my batteries.

That is why I was questioning why the kits were coming with LR's. I have a Riva 510 (750mah batts) on the way from Liberty Flights. It has one 510 atty and one LR atty. We are giving it to our daughter for X-mas. She has never touched an e-cig. I am removing that LR batt from her kit and replacing it with a regular atty. Would be just my luck she would kill her battery in her first week of use with an LR atty - LOL

i think theres more to the dead battery's then the lr addys i have been use them for 6 weeks all day every day and my egos are still good as new. the problem is when ppl do not clean them properly and the ohms drop down to 1.2 or lower and that will happen if you let gunk build up on the coils.. i love the lr with my tobacco flavors but the sweeter juices i like hr

ALWAYS keep an LR PLENTY wet. And rinse them out with very hot (running) water once every one or two weeks. This has kept my LR's going for 6 months. And if I'm not mistaken- DC2 who posted in this thread has some atomizers that have lasted even longer than mine so he's a good one to trust as well considering atty health advice. Heh.

The people who say LR's only live about 2 weeks obviously have no idea how to take good care of their atomizers. That's proposterous so don't believe it. Take good care of them and they will last a very long time. Same goes for regular atty's. The only exception would be if you got a bad one to begin with.

I am using a LR mega atty from Good prophets. I bought four more from Totally Wicked. They do drain the power x2 that is all I have noticed thus far. Which means for me...if my battery normally will last 5-6 months...it might last 2-3 months now. If that changes I will post. I just started two weeks ago. However, its worth it for me. I don't know anything about mods...still researching. Until I find something I know I can maintain...I will use LR for it gives me more of a cleaner throat hit. I have an orginal 510 from July that still works. I do keep them clean. If my battery quicker than my calculations, then I will reconsider my options. (I am just posting my real life experience so far.)

All I vape is tobacco blends. Right now a salem from TW.

I've tried quite a few LR atomizers in the past 8 months. And I've found that totally wicked's LR's are very inferior. The best I've found is Bauway LR 510's I'm not sure about any other bauway lr's (such as 901 801 4081 and I don't even know if they make any others than 510's) but I know that their LR 510's are the best around. The problem with totally wicked's LR's (which I believe are TECC brand) is the very poor vapor production and the throat hit is literally ZERO. If you don't like throat hit, however, they will be perfect for you. Of course I've never had ANY atty die in my whole time vaping, and that includes TW's lr's, but they are still sub par to me.

Are those reg LR or mega? I have the mega LR. I don't know if that would make a difference. I just got in the TW's LR mega atties today. It will be some time before I use them. I tend to use one LR, reg, and a cartomizer in a day. So I have a variety going on.

No I was talking about TW's regular LR's not mega. I haven't tried the megas yet mainly due to my disappointment with the regs. I liked them at first until I tried other brands and my search for the perfect LR landed me with Bauway. Try to post an update when you finally do end up trying the mega lr's though, I'm curious as to whether they are any good.
