So, one of my Mini Nova coils has reached the end of it's useful life. Muted, "dry" taste on each vape. I tried cleaning, soaking, dry burns. Finally, I gave up in looked in there with a ear scope. OMG!!! yuk!!! It's no wonder it tasted like that!

I've noticed these coils (the ones for the mini) tend to gunk up real fast, yet the ones on my rebuildable stardusts stay nice and shiney and new like much longer!

So I figured I would try dropping a stardust coil in the mini nova. They are both 2.4ohm, both Vision products, I figured what did I have to lose, worst possible case would be fry the battery, but I reasoned that was doubtful.

It's a tight fit. I even went so far as to use the little top stopper piece from the stardust coil, I think the little metal cones that stick up prevent a lot of flooding.

It's tight. But it works amazing!!!! I could not believe the flavor off this even from the first pull!!! I don't know if it's the single thick wick vs the 3 or 4 smaller frayed ones, or if it's the cone stopper part up top, or if it's both, or neither, but this is amazing!!!

I've been vaping on it since last night, so harm no foul yet. I'm watching for leaks, as it is such a close fit, and for signs the battery might be heating up, but so far, besides major improved flavor, no bad side effects at all.

I'm going to try this in my other Nova next! The only thing I may change is I may sand the very top of the metal on the coil itself down just a hair, just a tiny bit, and give it fractions of a inch more wiggle room.

Anyone else done this?

Can anyone think of any bad things I should be watching out for? Or anything bad that could happen that I haven't considered?

If these coils stay fresh and cleaner longer in my Mini Nova, I may just have to find a good home for my pile of Nova Coils and get another shipment of Stardust ones in!!!

When does this start SAVING me money again?????? :vapor:

I noticed the 1.8 and 2.4 ohm multi wick heads that come with the nova gunk up and turn black very fast compared to the thick single wick head found on the 2.8 ohm and short wick heads. Been vaping the same juices and I'm on my second week and the thick wick version still looks white and shiny after every cleaning, where the multi wick would turn black very fast and stay that way no matter how much i cleaned it

So funny that I came across your thread as I made a mistake today ordering the replacement heads for Vivi Nova Mini and ordered Stardust heads :( Contacted the company and they told me that my order had already shipped but this was their reply:

You ordered Stardust heads instead of nova but I have been told they will work. You may need to pull the silicon cap off and remove the metal cone and put silicon cap back on. When that is done you can't tell the difference.

So, I hope it works!

Actually, the stardust heads will fit with the silicon caps and cones. It's a tight fit, don't get me wrong, but they fit. AND .. to sweeten the deal, I actually like them a LOT better in my Mini Nova's than the Nova heads. Nova heads have like 4 thin wicks on each side (the 2.4's) but the Stardust 2.4's have one thick wick and one thin one. I can taste much more flavor with the stardust wicks, and they don't seem to gum up as fast. YMMV, but I have one Mini Nova now that I use only Stardust wicks in, and I will convert the other as soon as I run out of the Nova wicks I purchased.

Note: It's not as successful using the nova wicks in the stardust. They are not as tall, and there are fit problems.
