I've found the short wick gives a better throat hit and the long wick is a more mellow tastefull hit but not near as strong

Has anyone else noticed this? Could my long wick 1 just been not as good?

Anyways it's time to replace both for me, the long wick just isnt hitting strong enough and I go thru juice fast on it, the short wick I tried cleaning and it doesn't hit like it was

I noticed Canvape currently doesn't have any short wick stardust, does anyone know a site that has some stardust v3 short wicks ATM? Thanks!

The short wick and long wick versions should be very similar. Assuming the resistance is the same, the difference is probably just that less liquid is making it up the long wicks. Personally I get the long wicks and cut them to a length in between the 2, I think somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 the length of the tube is the sweet spot for the amount of liquid the wick can get to the coil, but I'm still experimenting. You can also try unraveling the wicks a bit at the end.

With the replaceable head versions, you shouldn't need to get a new body for a quite awhile, eventually they might get cracked or damaged somehow, especially if you're hard on things and throw them in a pocket like me, but it should be obvious.

Also, if you haven't .. I'd suggest trying the Vivi Nova and Kanger T2, I've found both to be better than the stardust. The 2.5 ml Vivi is a big larger and you might need a cone, the Kanger is essentially the same size without the taper at the top and needs ego threads.

I trimmed the wick of my long 1, but that didn't really do anything in effect to the vape, it was a brand new coil used for 2 days

what else could be wrong?

Is it the same ohms ? The ohms ( Ω ) are marked on the head and if it's higher, you'll want a slightly higher voltage to get the same vape. After 2 days, you might still be in the break in period, depending on your use. All of the wick systems take a little bit to start working well.

I have a kanger I aint used yet. I'm thinking about getting the nova

but I really liked the 1 stardust I had before cleaning it, basically I couldnt even press the button for 5 seconds the smoke was too big, now I can press it for like 10 seconds and not even get as big a puff as before, the stardust that doesnt work well has never been touched before, the 1 that usto work well b4 cleaning still doesnt work well with new coil/wick

has anybody else experienced a really good stardust and then ones where they dont work well period?

yeah both ohms are the same at 2.4

I'm using ego C twist battery

Did you just wash out everything with warm water and let it dry out ? Aside from being a bit wet, it's probably just the break in period of the new wick. You can make tip or leave it on it's side to make sure the wicks are saturated and take a light draw or two without using the battery to pull liquid into the coil. There's sometimes a tiny variance of -/+ 0.2 omhs with coils, but stardusts wicks are usually pretty consistent. You can also try raising the voltage a tad.

I never let it dry out exactly. I dry burned for a bit til the wick tips felt dry. I know I mustve burned the coil to die out or somthing. Yet It doesn't make sense why the new coil didnt work strong with its wick long or short, on the new stardust or the old 1 I cleaned. I've smoked 2 refills on each of them and it hasnt changed. The flavor is there, the smoke is there, but that throat hit is not there. I think maybe just a replacement coil isnt the fix somtimes and you just gotta replace the whole thing, defeats the purpose, but who knows!

I'm gonna fill my kanger and if that works the way my old stardust did, I'mma chuck both of them and buy 2 new complete ones an just hope they work... haha and never ever clean them!

I would guess that if you didn't dry burn it until the coils started glowing you still had some water in there...when it mixes with the juice it is a hot mess and you wont get maximum vapor, try cleaning it again and do a dry burn until the coils glow (no longer) and see if it makes a diff....just guessin here though :)

Hi Tebo, I've cleaned and dryburned a single coil/head dozens of times. My exp. tells me they get better.
Dryburning with the long wicks however may have put too much stress on the coil if it was done too quickly with long bursts and short rests. Dab the wicks as dry as possible before begining to dryburn. And make sure "all" of the connectors
are bone dry.(to emphasize what you probably already know)

2.8/3.0 ohms(short wick) are my preference. I found the 2.4's lacking. Don't know why? Just did. Ripped it apart and rebuilt it to 3ohm. 3 ohms worked better for me with vv.

Don't toss anything out. When the silica wears out I use 1mm. cotton I got from jrcustomturning(0.99cents/yard or 2)
to rewick the coil. Try it, it's easy. Dryburning is also much easier when there is no wick in the coil.

Too bad that mopar doesn't have the rebuildable "stardusts" or replacement heads for them up on the site anymore.
Bummer, they're all I use. At least I've still got a few replacement heads and other parts so I can rewick and recoil
what I have. Hope he gets more though. Surely they were good sellers.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention that he's outta the good stuff.

Don't like "having" to buy new stuff I may not like when what I'm using now works so well for me.
Spend, spend, spend.
Hope you can get what you have(SD's) working optimal for you again.:vapor::vapor:

OOOPS...missed the multicolour V3's
