I asked them for a refund, they said, "No. we will fix it."

Seems kinda pricey for an average looking sqounk, especially one that doesn't work. Can your credit card company deny the payment and get your money back? If not you are kind of stuck working with the company on their terms.

Agreed. Not really a fan of the Boxer or Rebel. I considered getting the mech ones because used i've seen them for less than $50 USD, but I wouldn't buy one new.

Man, with $313 there's so many nice things to be had.

They'll usually only reverse payment if 1 of the following is true:
1) It was a fraudulent purchase not made by the cardholder
2) The item was never shipped by the vendor
3) The item was faulty when received. Proof of return to the vendor is provided to them. A copy of a vendor refusal to then refund the buyer's money is provided.

None of those are true in the OP's case.

@asmcriminal - I notice in their email to you, that they're also asking you to falsify the value of the mod ("put the value as $10-20 max.") if/when you ship it back to them. That's to help them avoid paying a higher Custom's Fee for receiving it. However, if it happens to be somehow "lost" in transit...you'd receive only $10-20 back for it then, IF you purchased insurance for it.

ETA: I also noticed there's nothing in their email about what they'd charge you (if anything) to ship it back to you, after repairing it.

Some cards do apply an extended warranty or cover accidental damage. I completely destroyed a new snowboard, and an expensive one at that – 100% my fault. CC company covered it under accidental damage and applied a full refund. Purchased a new board that was cheaper and was able to pocket the balance.

Read the fine print of your Credit Card. Call and ask but do it right away.

I assume you're in the EU. The sauce guys are in the EU as well (at the time of purchase) so that makes it an easy case to verify with your EU consumer rights.
You have a minimum warranty of 2 years, with the caveat that after the first 6 months have passed you have to prove the article was defective when you received it, before that time it would be the seller having to prove the item was without flaws (which is almost impossible to do).
If during those first 6 months the device stops working (or develops major flaws) the seller has to take action.
Unfortunately for you it's the sellers choice if they want to repair, exchange or refund the item, not yours.
They have no obligation to refund.

That said I'd expect more from people catering to high end buyers, customer service is a part of high end and the bare legal minimum isn't really anything special, is it.

Edit: just saw you live in Latin America so I don't know what your rights are.
Written all that stuff for nothing:oops:... whelp, somebody might read it who didn't know so I'll leave it up.

You brought up a valid point in that the company is not obligated to offer a full refund. The terms of their warranty are specified on their web site, and only when a device was received dead on arrival will they offer a refund assuming the company was contacted within 24hrs. This incident falls outside those requirements.

I have been vaping for ten years. It seems like every year I have to buy a new mod because they break or look really bad. I bought this because it is 3D printed Nylon. The color wouldn't fade. Yet, it broke.

I felt the same way then got on the mechanical train. The 510s on my mech squonkers are literally just a bolt with a bunch of different sized nuts and washers. If ever they did break (doubtful) I could just order a spare for a couple bucks and screw it back on. The only other part is the long silver contact that touches the bottom of the battery and the button. Again doubtful it would break, but if it did they can be had for like $6.

People ask why we mech, that's exactly why. As you can see, there isn't much to break.

Thanks for the info. I can look into it. I am from the United States. I don't know why it says Latin America. I need to fix that.

My concern with that mod would be the paint chipping and/or fading.

How did it break? It looks like the hanging assembly has threads, it won't go back in?
I know that Gingervaper (Boxer) has a terrible customer service reputation, I've seen emails where they threaten people on a reviewers channel. I haven't heard many negatives about the Rebel company. I was just curious how it broke.

That's one of the reasons I've been thinking about mechs lately.

I was just screwing in my atomizer and I heard a popping sound. I was always careful with it too because my friend told me the Rebel had issues with the 510 breaking. The part I colored red are supposed to be together. I think I could solder them back together. It was a really weak joint.
