So,

I'm mid development on a few products for the store for next year and I want to get some feedback.

There are two categories below, "Toppers" and "Devices". Toppers being your atomizer/cartomizer/coil thingy.. the part that vaporizes your juice. The "Devices" category is regarding your battery housing device, or the "mod" itself. There are 2 categories of devices as well, a feature mod and a "starter" device. Please rate the features in order of most important to least important. Also, please... tell your friends and fellow vapers about this thread, the larger sample I can get, the more valuable it is to my development process and the more likely I'll put something out that meets the communities wants and desires. Also, please think outside of the box. Try not to imagine existing products fitting into these needs, we have been taught to make certain sacrifices by the current options on the market, assume you don't have to live with something just because that's how it's always been.

Toppers List:
Ease of use
juice Capacity
Lifetime (how long it lasts before needing to be replaced)
Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable)
Size

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device)
Size
Battery capacity
Replaceable batteries
A display
Box shape
Tube shape
Aesthetics (do looks matter or is a straight metal tube/box ok)
price

Devices list: Beginners device
Power regulation
Size
Battery capacity
Replaceable batteries
aesthetics
life expectancy (should it be considered 'semi' disposable or something that lasts as long as a feature mod?)
price

Please number your answers for each category most important to least important. Thank you for participating in advance :)

Toppers List:
Ease of use
Juice Capacity -------------------------------------------------------Least Important
Lifetime (how long it lasts before needing to be replaced)
Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable) ------------------seems to be the big thing
Size -----------------------------------------------------------------Most Important "Will it fit the Provari?" or "how does it look on whatever
device"

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device)
Size ------------------------------------------------------------------small with good batt life
Battery capacity ------------------------------------------------------as long as it lasts thru the work day it's ok
Replaceable batteries
A display -------------------------------------------------------------least important as long as you can tell what's goin on
Box shape
Tube shape -----------------------------------------------------------I like tube mods better than box mods
Aesthetics (do looks matter or is a straight metal tube/box ok) -------straight metal tube is ok "stainless not chrome"
price ------------------------------------------------------------------as long as it performs

Devices list: Beginners device
Power regulation -------------------------------------------------------not real important cuz all the rebuildables coming out
Size -------------------------------------------------------------------beginners dont want big mods
Battery capacity -------------------------------------------------------very important should at least make it thru the work day
Replaceable batteries --------------------------------------------------least important . . .I'm thinking more semi disposable
aesthetics -------------------------------------------------------------small . . .I'm thinking pocket friendly at least
life expectancy (should it be considered 'semi' disposable or something
that lasts as long as a feature mod?) semi disposable totally. . .that way it's not a major investment
price ------------------------------------------------------------------not a major investment.

Toppers List:
Ease of use- easy for starter or advanced such as popping the top to fill vs needing a needle. A larger screw will work foir this as long as the tip of the avg juice bottle fits(or include a skinny neck juice bottle with the order)
Juice Capacity- 2ml is fine, I always have a little bottle of juice with me and if its easy to fill, No Problem.
Lifetime (how long it lasts before needing to be replaced) minus abuse and o ring wear, it should last forever. Afterall they dont have moving parts. Accessories could be sold to continue sells to past buyers such as upgraded tanks, fancy tips, laser engraved caps, etc.
Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable)- starters with replaceable heads, advanced with a parts list and good parts supply cause us tinkers sometimes break .... trying something new
Size- Small form factor, one of the reasons I said 2 ml was enough. it doesnt have to be big to be badass.

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device)
Size- see above
Battery capacity- 18650s are good but most mods are 2 to three times the size of the battery, electronics dont take up much room. Look at your DNA20,I am so jealous.
Replaceable batteries- silly question
A display- a must
Box shape
Tube shape
Aesthetics (do looks matter or is a straight metal tube/box ok)if you are going to chrome it, at least offer black chrome as an option, no anodizing, its too fragile, powder coating would be better.
price

Devices list: Beginners device
Power regulation- why not, vamos are cheap
Size- beginners might want to stealth, but form factor gets expensive
Battery capacity- not as important if batteries are replacable
Replaceable batteries- see above
aesthetics- it has to look good or it wont sell, here is where you can skimp on finish. It is a beginner model, not expecting them to be using it 1-2 yrs from now. Example my vamo is already wearing(not chipping) through the chrome around the button and its only a month old. Did I mention I want something other than chrome?
life expectancy (should it be considered 'semi' disposable or something that lasts as long as a feature mod?) Once again, no moving parts but cheaper electronics do fail time to time. I would say 1 yr life expectancy, with failure rate at that point about 10%
price- I think your competitors will set the price point for you.

I no like essay test neither--but I find the multiple-choice surveys usually do not represent my opinion either (I'm not complicated, I just like being difficult). So here's my mulitple-choice with comments ;) :

Choices rearranged in order of personal importance...

Toppers List: (in order of importance)
1 Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable) I'm all about the rebulidables now
2 Lifetime (how long it lasts before needing to be replaced) I'm old enough to remember when "planned obsolescence" was not a "feature"
3 Ease of use
4 Juice Capacity
Not less than 2ml nor more than 5/6ml
5 Size

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device) I prefer mechanical devices, so keep that in mind...
1 Battery capacity I'd like to get at least a whole day
1 Replaceable batteries I'd rather carry an extra battery than an extra device "just in case"
1 A display If it's electronic I want to see what it's doing
2 Aesthetics (do looks matter or is a straight metal tube/box ok) A straight tube/box can be aesthetically pleasing, but looks do matter to me in a "featured device"
3 Price I'm cheap poor not rich
3 Size As long as it's comfortable to hold and carry
8 Box shape
8 Tube shape
Form factor is irrelevant to me--I'm comfortable with either

Devices list: Beginners device
1 Battery capacity #1 complaint of beginners seems to be lack of longevity/power
2 Size I've seen some novices balk at the size of an ego, and a great many at the size of a lavatube
2 price Almost all beginners say $60 is too much for one device, even though I believe a lot of people pay that much for a carton of smokes
3 life expectancy It should last long enough to find a replacement, remembering that there may be a few attempts in the process
3 Power regulation I prefer mechanical, but I wouldn't know that if I hadn't had the chance to try regulated...
3 aesthetics
4 Replaceable batteries

Toppers List:

Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable)

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device)

Wanted to Take a little time to think on this one.... So... here goes!

Toppers List:
4 - Ease of use
3 - Juice Capacity
1 - Lifetime (how long it lasts before needing to be replaced)
2 - Customizable Resistance (i.e. repairable/rebuildable)
5 - Size

Being two clicks shy of falling below the poverty line, longevity in my atomizing devices has become critically important to me. Rebuildables prolong the life of things like Vivi Tanks... I feel like I am using less juice in smaller tanks. This may just be perception, but perception is reality. All devices become easier to use as you get used to them, and I really don;t care how big or small it looks, as long as it works.

Devices List: Feature Mod (this will be a power regulated device)
5 - Size
4 - Battery capacity
2 - Replaceable batteries
3 - A display
8 - Box shape
7 - Tube shape
6 - Aesthetics (do looks matter or is a straight metal tube/box ok)
1 - price

So much comes down to financial considerations for me. Well, My Wife anyway. While battery capacity is important, the mah rating is independent of the mod. I'd rather have 2 lower mah batteries than 1 higher mah. A display is only important if you have a VV/VP device (which is something I don't see on this list, if that were here, that would slate 2nd after price). On single volt device... display is far less important. Though some "activity indicator" IS important. Shape, size, look... whatever.. so long as it vapes! Actually, I prefer an ugly device anyway!

Devices list: Beginners device
7 - Power regulation
6 - Size
1 - Battery capacity
3/4 - Replaceable batteries
5 - aesthetics
3/4 - life expectancy (should it be considered 'semi' disposable or something that lasts as long as a feature mod?)
2 - price

What I thought was important as a beginner and feel is important for a beginner now has changed. Noobs think they know everything! If starter devices could be vaped longer than an hour or two before being tossed on The Monty Python Cart 'O Death, there would be a lot less frustrated ex-vapers/current smokers running around out there. And it's not like these manufacturers are sacrificing mah ratings for affordability. Once you get past that... anything more starts to intimidate the folks. ESPECIALLY variable voltage. I tried explaining variable to a friend who is about two weeks in and I could actually see in her eyes the exact moment her brain shut down!
