I just received one of these from a very generous forum member and I wanted to know if, those of you that use one, have you drilled the air holes out? I have never used any rba and I don't want to kill this one. Also is it possible to use cotton as wicks? I have heard it can be a problem, but is it possible?

I tried to drill one of the holes in mine but the material is very hard and thick in the area. I tried to set it up with mesh but it wasn't working too well. I saw how some people set them up like a dripper with the wicks on top and when your wicks get dry you just tilt your device a little and it gets the wicks soaked. Works pretty well. Def need to drill out the air holes at least on the one I have. I will attempt a mesh setup again one day but it looks so sleek I wanted to have it set up somehow so I could use it. I did try some silica wicks before my current setup. Seems to have difficulty in getting juice to the wick that way. Best of luck

The air holes is a personnel thing if you make them to big you will have a airy draw. Some people use cotton but IMO mesh works best with genys thats what they were deigned to be used with. No clearo will come close to a properly set up geny heres a pic of my Bliss an earlier Doc Dave creation. I cant say as to the clones I dont buy counterfeit products.

You need a drill press and a cobalt drill bit I use my Drimel and drimel work station Its possible to use a drill but most likely you just end up breaking your drill bits and scratching your top cap.

Thank you for sharing your opinion I was not criticizing anyone nor judging simply stating the facts for the propose of being helpful. A clone might preform different than the original. If you want to support counterfeiters its your money and none of my business.

Once that material gets hardened from drilling it's even more difficult to drill. I work in aviation and we have all the cobalt bits we want pretty much. Still a pain in the rear to drill lol

Correct;-) I would guess the guys making the atty dont have the best equipment and are making as many as fast at they can. So they as you said hardened the metal by getting it hot as they drilled it.

I guess thats one of the differences for the price. Honestly though I have not seen many people who feel its necessary to drill out a turbine. I would say work on setting up, your mesh and coil skills. There are some youtube tutorials for specifically the turbine.

Just learn to set it up properly then you can decide if you want to modify it, is my advise.

Having a few kayfuns that are wide open on the airflow and drilling out the drippers I have also I like the more airy draw. It just doesn't hit like I want it to with the holes the size they are now. It's not really high up on the to do list for me. I have a Fogger and a Magoo that I'm tinkering with with a few more drippers coming so it hasn't had my full attention since the mesh incident lol. I'll come back to it one day I'm sure

Maybe you can fill the original holes with JB weld and try drilling some different holes 90% from the old ones? just a thought. The draw is 100% a personal thing I use my kayfun at about 1/2

I never thought of setting it up like a dripper and then tilting it to wet the wick. I'll try that. I won't buy mesh for it if I can't use cotton I will end up PIF to someone else (that's how I got it). Part of the reason for my starting to vape was savings and the more experimenting I do the less I save. I have finally saved more than I have spent and I want to keep it that way.

I saw a guy on a Facebook group set it up like a dripper. It works pretty good I must say. Wish I could take the credit lol

Hmmm interesting idea there. I may try a smaller bit first then go up to #50. I have some #60 bits so that might be an option. I was gonna do the top holes only and see how that was as far as airflow. It might be different for me cause when I use my trident it's wide open and like I said it's set up like a dripper. I really would like to learn the mesh just because I'm a tinker and love to learn new things. In time I guess

OK, i set up one coil on this. It's not may favorite so far. I can't get it to read on my itaste so I can read the Ohms so I just have to make sure I haven't got a short and fire it on my mech. the way the screws are placed the coil almost has to be vertical and that makes it difficult to wick. I think I might end up PIF'ing this one.
