If it were a vendor to have been part of the abuse, than said vendor needs to, instead of throwing jabs at someone for trying to help out, take those comments, verify with THEIR customers to see if they are experiencing the same things, and of so, improve the product and/or find a better product to sell. And if it is just the matter of opinion that is the problem, said vendor should ignore reviewers comment, and except that his product is good in his heart and that his customers are satisfied, regardless of review.

If you are a vendor...be professional. If you can't, don't run a business, get a day job.

Twice now I have typed up a post to just reread it and cancel it out. My opinion of what happened this weekend doesn't quite square with the majority of posters. I'll just say that I enjoyed SJ's videos for the most part and I hope she finds time away from youtube and this mess to be healing.

Someone posted earlier asking who was doing this. I don't have that info and apparently the worse of it came thru private messages. There was a certain vendor participating in this mess. His comments were disturbing to say the least. I don't do business with him and will continue to got what I got elesewhere.

I agree with classwife here! We have ~100 posts - all generic repudiation of some generic (and, ultimately, alleged) bullying. But mostly in support of someone who did get hurt. Then one post alludes to possibly "a vendor" being involved, and the discussion risks degenerating. Obviously, that's a big piece of innuendo, because I'd really love to know who myself; but in absence of publishable proof, this can be a very dangerous insinuation.

That said, I can believe it. I've seen a show where our own rolygate was being almost bullied by a vendor, not that rolygate was fazed in the least, but still... When one perceives their very livelihood threatened, one might react badly.

I'm kinda new to vaping and never really watched Steeljan's videos, I watched one that I remember, but in all my years on various internet forums and communities I've never really seen so many people upset over one persons decisions to leave their role in said community. I think this must speak volumes about Steeljan and i hope she sees how much support everyone has for her and everything can get resolved.

It is a real shame that her wonderfully educational videos could not at least remain with comments disabled. I only began watching her videos when I randomly came across the one with the shocking title "Vaping Bullies" and saw what seemed like a very sweet woman so upset. Its just sad all around but hopefully it teaches the community a lesson. Keep it a clean community open to each other's opinions, guidance, growth and most importantly... Just agree to disagree. The heart-wrenching level this was taken to was just beyond unnecessary.

I remember reading some comments that where just general questions & where received as negative & deleted. Not sure why, especially when they where left open for general discussion.

I also remember some comments that where just down right uncalled for & began to continually pop up. It was some pretty bad name calling & a flat out attack of character. I can see how she could get upset over those.

I don't think she should throw in the towel though. She challenged the industry, which we sometimes need, & received a backlash which should have been expected.

Hopefully she'll take a break, catch her breath & continue to do something for our wild west era of a industry. Tell ya the truth I kind of wish she'd either design or make some moods herself. I think they'd be worth top dollar, imo.

I noticed that myself & considered a few comments disturbing as well, especially with him being a vendor. He also threw around some vulgar names in defense of his products. I don't see how two wrongs make a right. That's bullying as well. There's plenty of other, very nice, vendors out there begging for business.

If it were a vendor to have been part of the abuse, than said vendor needs to, instead of throwing jabs at someone for trying to help out, take those comments, verify with THEIR customers to see if they are experiencing the same things, and of so, improve the product and/or find a better product to sell. Well said.

I'm late for the party. Don't got the skinny on what happened

For those who missed it, here's a breakdown of what went on:

Steeljan posted video and made a comment about (paraphrasing here as the vid is gone) "people who put some big test box on their mods that add 5ohms of resistance" that appeared to be directed at pbusardo. He responded with a quick video of his own that showed his boxes did not skew his numbers to first ensure that he wasn't doing something wrong, and secondly to protect his integrity when he found he wasn't in case someone did question his methods.
Not a real big deal at that point.

But it escalated very quickly when Steeljan responded to someone asking about it in the comments of her video with (again, paraphrasing) "He's real good at making things show what he wants them to" which a lot of people took (and I admit I was one of them) as a blatant and very direct shot at his integrity and weren't real happy about one member of the community seemingly lashing out at another like that.

But in typical Internet fashion, the responses to those rather meek comments quickly got way out of line with people making horrendously vile personal insults and even wishing her and her family harm (which I was not a part of and do not in any way condone). I don't blame her at all for walking away from that. Those people were way out of line.

But the more popular/helpful/talented/loved someone is, the more some people will want to bring them down to their level of misery (aka "the Boy Band/Beiber effect") and any little opening will draw those people out of the woodwork. Many of the people posting those comments didn't even have a clue what vaping was, they just somehow found someone who was vulnerable and jumped on the bandwagon. Walking away just gives those people what they wanted. Reviewers, and anyone who makes themselves available to the public need to remember they're doing it for those who appreciate what they do and those who don't, don't matter.

I was critical of her comment but I certainly didn't want her to leave. Her contributions far , FAR outweigh one minor lack of tact in a comment that could have easily been due to something we don't know anything about or just having a bad day and certainly didn't warrant the treatment she received as a result. Her info and support of this community has not just entertained people like a Boy Band or Beiber. She's helped many people (including myself) save their own lives and the lives of loved ones by helping them understand vaping and kick the cigs.

It is as much as her as free speach and freedom;bullying impeds that and it is unacceptable.
