Could some please splain to me why steeping enhances the flavor.

I'm too new to vaping to have really done any, but have some in the fridge now.

Here's the part that eludes my somewhat addled mind.

I don't think that when I order a new juice to try that the seller drops what he/she is doing and blends it up special for that day.

Doesn't it sit on the shelf and steep?

Analog for for 14 days now. :):vapor:

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Some vendors keep large supplies of stock on hand so the liquid has plenty of time to steep before it gets to the end user. Other vendors handcraft their liquid fresh which is why some steeping is recommended.

It's kind of like cooking a stew or a spaghetti sauce. The longer it sits, the more the flavors blend together and you get the full effect of the liquid's intended taste.

Yeah the general consensus seems to be that room temp is about ideal for steeping.

But I am still on the fence about the general idea of steeping, some of my juices seemed to get better with a ~20 day steep period, but it could all just be in my head or based on what equipment I am using to vape it. vaping on a SR atty + cart (that has been re-cleaned various times) VS a fresh LR carto, provides such a vast difference and could have been the determining factor of why my juices taste so different.

Who knows, I don't think anybody can scientifically prove it's worth, but I guess it couldn't hurt to observe it anyway. Once you have enough liquid you like laying around, it gets easier and easier to forget about the ones steeping. Then before you know it's been a month and you no longer have to worry about the possibility of the flavor getting better/worse by steeping.

Also you shouldn't steep/store in the fridge , a dark cool drawer is much better.

+1

I used to think that unless it was too cold "Frozen" it wouldn't hurt the e liquid. I was wrong. If it's in a fridge you will have a juice that's really thick and the flavor will not be the same. Some juices are good right off the bat and some def. need that steeping time. Especially Backo flavors;) Cool Dark place is the best.
