The first couple of days of vaping, I had a pack of cigs I could reach for if I really got the urge to smoke. I put them up, out of sight, but knew they were there. I didn't clear my ashtrays, I didn't put away my lighters and I didn't start worrying about "what if I couldn't quit smoking." I averaged 3 cigs a day the first week and felt darn good that I passed on the other 27 :). The following week, I decided I would not reach for them but they were still there if I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO HAVE ONE! There were a couple of times I really wanted one, then would vape my head off, up my nic juice and end up feeling on the edge of dizzy, lol! But...the feeling for needing an analog would pass after that, so I didn't reach for one. On day 3 of vaping only, a friend came over and she ran out of smokes...so I gave her mine, haven't had an analog in 11 days....feels great!
Everyone IS different, go easy on yourself and start counting the cigs you didn't have...
Happy vaping!

I haven't had a smoke in 3 days (minus the one I tried after 1 day of vaping and realized it tasted like crap after one puff, put it out). I've found myself building new rituals, such as constantly topping off my ego (after puffing it plenty of times), just watching the drops drip it... feels kind of odd, but at the same time I enjoy thinking "there's a couple more analogs I won't be smoking".

The nic in mine is really low, this weekend I might go get a stronger amount to try out, but I've found I can mostly overcome the weakness by just puffing more! The ego is almost a part of my body now, either in my hand or in my pocket...

i tried quitting many many times before the e-cig... This time around I told myself I wasn't quitting, just looking for a way to cut back on analogs.... Didn't make any big "I'm Quitting" announcements... just quietly started vaping and smoking analogs... After 3 days of vaping and smoking, I was down to only 2 smokes a day. 3 days of that and I was ready to trust the e-cig completely... 18 days now analog free....

Yesterday was the hardest though... I really really wanted a tobacco flavored fix and all I had was fruit juices.. So I've placed an order for some high nic tobacco flavors for those days... It's not going to be easy... if it was, none of us would even be here... I started to think of myself as "not a smoker... but as a drug addict" sounds rough, I know, but it's the truth, we are drug addicts just changing the way we get our fix...
It's helping me not run for a smoke when I need a fix, but to vape instead...

I can tell you after 18 days I'm breathing very easy now and after 33 years of smoking Reds... it was becoming noticable when I'd lay down at night and first thing in the mornings...

One more thing... get your post count up to 15 and make yourself a banner counting the ones your not smoking... I find this to be a huge motivator for me... really... just keeping that number pure sometimes is the only thing keeping me from telling myself that little lie... "I'll just have one"

Good Luck. We're all pulling for each other

Hi y'all... I've been vaping for a little over 2 weeks now, and I still find myself craving analogs. My first e-cig was a Trio, and I kept running into problems with it; some could be fixed, others were caused by personal preferences. I switched to Vapor King, which I just got today and love already. Maybe I'm having a hard time converting because of the difficulties I've encountered. Whatever the case may be, I'm starting to worry. Between the Trio and the Vapor King, I've dumped $150 up front to switch, and now I'm worried because I'm still craving analogs. Is this normal, am I being too hard on myself, or am I doing something wrong?

Don't worry about not stopping immediately. I continued to smoke for 9 months after I bought my first PV. To avoid the stress of trying to quit, I kept my cigarettes on my desk next to my PV. I just reached for the one I wanted each time I had an urge.

When I finally found some really good flavors for juice, I started using the PV more and more as a matter of preference. I didn't realize I had quit smoking until 3 days after the fact.

I have to disagree with bornagainst somewhat. When I didn't have analogs in the house, it drove me crazy and made me want them even more. When they were lying around and I knew I could have one anytime I wanted, I didn't crave them as much.

I was exactly the same way. I still have an unopened pack of cigarettes and lighters in my car. I don't want or desire them, but not having them makes me nuts.

This backfired on me yesterday!

I have always smoked analogs in my garage to keep the smell out of the house/carpet/drapes/paint. I would smoke sitting or standing at my workbench...whenever I needed to think through a problem, and during the smoker's "high points" - after meals, first thing in the morning, last thing before bed. I've maintained the ritual of going to the garage during those select times to do my vaping. I have a half-pack of smokes and a lighter laying on the workbench and when I vaped I would look at them and pat myself on the back for not even being interested in an analog.

Yesterday morning I walked out to the garage to think through a problem for work, carring my PV with me. I set the PV down and with my mind totally on the problem to be solved, I paced a couple of steps around the workbench. Then by sheer force of habit alone, I grabbed the pack of smokes, shook one out, grabbed the lighter and fired one up. Took a puff and thought, "What the hell, this juice tastes like .....!", then realized I was holding an analog!:( Disgusting! I stubbed it out, grabbed my PV and took several vapes, then I scooped up the half-pack of analogs and tossed them in the trash. Don't want to make that "habitual" mistake again!:glare:

I still have the pack in my purse with 7 missing. That feeling of running out of cigarettes is the worst and when I needed them the most. For six days they've been in my purse untouched. Six days analog free. I'm kind of afraid of getting rid of them. I have no desire to smoke one but I think it's because they're there and it's a choice. It took me about 2 weeks of vaping to become analog free.

Good luck to you.

I just wanted to check back in with y'all and tell you how I'm doing. I smoked the last of my Camel Light pack yesterday, and didn't buy anymore. I got really stressed out during a phone conversation with my sister today, and I probably would have smoked the tobacco cigs if they had been in the house. I can't begin to tell you how badly I wanted one, but I just vaped like there was no tomorrow. I could have gone to the smoke shop after the phone conversation, but I went to the Dollar General store just up the street and bought myself some chocolate instead. I bought myself one of those big Hershey's w/ Almond bars (I ate one strip off of it), and some snack size Kit-Kats and Reese's PB cups for my boyfriend. I spent less than a pack of cigs on that trip, and felt proud of myself on the way home.

I think just sharing how I felt with people helped me out a lot. I hope I can pass it forward later on. Thanks to all who responded to my post.

Good going! Don't forget to drink lot's of cool (not iced) water! Toss some orange or lemon slices in. It might save you a trip to the store.... will help get the poisons out of your body faster.

At 5am I'll be 24 hours without an analog. The thing that's helping me the most is that I simply don't have any in the house. I haven't even cheated and dug through the ashtray looking for a .... with a puff or 2 left in it. I am hitting a bag of M&Ms and vaping like a madman though.

Congratulations!!! :toast: I've noticed that I'm vaping a lot too (like draining a batt when one is still charging). I figure it's because I have smoking on my mind. I didn't really chain smoke on a regular basis.. just on "special occasions" lol I think the more I get used to vaping, the less chain vaping I will do. That's the only thing I can think of because I'm not going into nic withdrawal. I ended up smoking 5 tobacco cigs yesterday, but that's better than the 2-1/2 to 3 packs a day I was smoking before I started vaping, and the 1-1/2 packs a day I was smoking when I was using the Fifty-One Trio. The tobacco is starting to lose it's appeal, doesn't taste as good as the vape, produces a lot less smoke than vaping, and I get confused about how to drag on the tobacco cig. I keep forgetting I'm not going to get as much smoke out of it as I do vapor, so I'll drag on the stupid thing wondering why it isn't working. Today I've smoked 2 so far, still feel the need for the first morning one.

I have ordered a third battery, more blank cartos, a bottle of my favorite flavor (VG milk chocolate),and a USB charger... I've read around and the passthru sounds cool, but I see that it might not be a good idea for the warmer blanks which I absolutely love... something about they get even hotter with the passthru. Even though I will most likely not vape so much in the future, the extra batt will be good to have around.
