I'm also trying to get this house cleaned up, I've let it go far too long, so I'm trying to force me to take on one task every day, making progress.
Hey Claudia, good on ya for adopting the required-one-task-a-day approach! That will work for you, just keep it up, don't stop! I've had times in my life when I got completely overwhelmed with keeping my surroundings squared away, and it feels bad. Working on it is the way out, YOU GO GIRL!
My best friend from college lived here in this state long before I moved back here after college. It had been decades since I'd seen her, and she had been divorced and had been through some hard times in the meanwhile. She's a Type I diabetic, and has lost an eye, her career, and almost a foot over the years. She has stayed out of control with her diabetes since I knew her in college. Really, a wonder she's alive.
She finally asked me over to her house, after I'd been back here almost a year, because she needed some help moving some furniture around. Her house, with 4 cats, is a total wreck. She's intelligent, has always been beautiful, and all that good stuff. But somehow her house and environment has gotten completely past the point of one person being able to fix it.
Stay as ahead as you can, and if you get waaaay behind, ask for help and get it! Not saying any of that applies to you, my dear -- just reminded me... if you feel like you're over your head, get some help! Don't beat yourself up!
