I was so happy to see that you had posted here and was hoping to hear all about how much you love your new home and job. Sorry to hear things are not going smoothly. Glad you are ok though. It has been a rough winter for several of us. Hopefully it will be over soon.

Come back and post when you are feeling up to talking or if you need to vent. You can always PM me, you know that.

Wanted to pop in and let you all know that I still live. The move is over, but things have gone *really* bad and are not getting much better. I didn't / don't want to dump on you guys so I decided to just stay away... not that I've had much free time to begin with.

Have a good weekend. :)

Uncle I finally found your post :)
It was in the first contest thread

"CONTEST ENTRY" - 11/19/2013 . . .

Well I think it's okay for me to enter this contest, especially since I am covered as one of those people who is an ECF Member (I've been involved here since June 2011) and I Still Smoke Cigarettes . . .

YES - I am addicted to the smoking habit . . . Physically/Emotionally/Psychologically . . .

AND - Like so many other people who have addictions, I have accepted the fact that I AM Addicted and Always Will Be . . .

Hey - I've been a smoker for over 45 + Years and became so addicted to smoking that I am at times still smoking 2 1/2 - 3 PAD and sometimes 4 (when frustrated) - like so many other people and even some here on ECF are too . . . (AND - While still vaping Too . . .)

AM I Proud of that Fact - NO . . . Nor Am I Embarrassed or Feel like a Failure - Nope - Na Da - Not Gonna Be Happening . . . (No - I DO NOT BEAT MYSELF UP - either for doing so. . . ;)) . . . However, at times I have become very confused, frustrated, and honestly even angry for a number of reason - the least of which is the difficulty for "Me" of making this "Transition into the World of vaping" when so many others have found it so easy to do so . . .

Anyway, as I said before in the thread that the "Cute Little Blue Bunny" finally started http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...dicted-smoking-habit-support-chat-thread.html and throughout many of "My" ECF Post . . .

"Hey Listen - I am the type of person who wanted all of this to be as simple as walking into a store to purchase a pack of cigarettes and I still do (YES - I AM AS STUBBORN as Some other people "You" might know who are [addicted]) . . .

At first, I didn't want to stop/quit smoking - only cut back . . . But - Now it is a different story, since being here on ECF and reading many of the member stories (especially "lolady" - and for those who haven't read her thread or Blogs, IMO - "You" really should . . .More importantly, "lolady's" - "New Member" post is actually one of the first post that I read that got "Me" started here on ECF and why I became a member & how I got the ECF Handle "Uncle" . . . )

AND - Continuing to learn more about the process is also what is keeping "Me" here on ECF and trying . . . .

As for having a problem with Equipment/Hardware, I really don't think so . . . Matter of fact, I found more then enough different APV/Mods that defiantly - WORK ! ! ! And that I am happy with . . . Although, there are times I am not to sure what I am doing . . . Worse - is getting "Nicotine" Poisoning (which has happened a few times) when I didn't use them properly - or the "Cartos/Tanks I was using leaked from the "E-Liquids" - NOT NICE ! ! !

AND - YES - before anyone says anything, I have read the instructions, watched the videos, and even had personal one on one "How To's" with some local Vapers . . . Doesn't matter, I still get frustrated when I am having a "Moment Of AGE" (if you don't know what that is - Then You're Not OLD enough for "Me" to tell Ya' ;) ) or using the WRONG "E-Liquid" Delivery System with the Wrong APV (Long story - No One NEEDS to know that doesn't already . . . ) . . .

BTW: Being disabled and having a very limited income now . . . All this Equipment/Hardware is THANKS to a few of "My" Friends who have financially helped and really want to see "Me" succeed, especially a few right here on ECF who have PIF a lot of "Stuff" to "Me", including "E- Liquid" - and also from a couple of ECF Vendors' Contest that I've Won too . . . Otherwise I would never be able to get all this "Stuff" or be at this for as long as I have been . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Which leads "Me" to tell Ya' - What is a very important problem I am having . . . Finding the One "E-Liquid" that can become "My" ADV . . . Like I've already mentioned - I wanted this to be simple, especially when it comes to "E-Liquids" . . . SO, the search began, for what I wanted and now call a "TRUE MENTHOL TOBACCO" . . . For almost the past 2 years I have tried many and I do mean many different "E-liquids" and additives too, including more "Menthols" then I really wanted to try or test . . . And to make a very long story short, let's just put it out there - The "Menthols" I have gotten through purchases, winning many generous Vendor contest, and even more from very generous and caring People who PIF to "Me" so much "Stuff" - I have tried almost a total of 200 + different "E-Liquids". . . AND - NONE and DO MEAN NONE have been - IMO - a "TRUE MENTHOL TOBACCO" . . . Mint - Yes; Peppermint - YES, Spearmint - Yes; Toothpaste - Yes; Candy/Sweet Tasting - Yes; A Satisfying Cool Refreshing "Menthol" Taste - NOPE - Na Da - Did Not Happen . . . Nor more importantly, even letting them "Steep" and giving them a try over and over again - have any of them satisfied "My" craving for cigarettes, even at 24/36mg of nicotine . . . AS - For the ones I've tried that are "Food" related - They only make "Me" feel sick to my stomach . . . SO - Not Good or NICE . . . :(

Now - As for any of the very few "E-liquids" I do use right now, while I do like how they taste while Vaping them I still have to put additives - Both "Menthol Crystal Liquid"/"Kolada" - in them to have some satisfaction . . . BTW: Using these "E-Liquids" - There are times when I have cut back and only smoked 2 PAD when the "Vaping" is working - So that is a Plus . . . Just not often enough, because something is till missing . . . :(

So - I am hoping that if I were lucky enough to possibly "WIN" some WTA that it would at least help "Me" along the way and find that missing ingredient to use with these "E-Liquids" until I Find that "True Menthol Tobacco" too . . .

Okay - I'm DONE . . . More importantly, I truly think that is enough personal disclosure too . . .
Just Sayin' . . .;)

BUT - Before I Go. . .

THANK YOU - "WholeCig" & "Lox"/"PIF" Community . . .
for the Contest and Opportunity to enter - I hope I am not the only one to post an entry . . . :D

EDIT:  WOW - Just noticed it took "Me" over 4 hours to write this - NOT EVER Gonna Happen Again . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

thanks, I am still trying to figure it out, I got the letter from Social Security, it just explains the hearing and the reason for the judges decision, no money or monthly amount is discussed, it says someone will contact me within 60 days, 2 more torture months!

According to the letter, I will get medicare A and B because my disability officially began Jan. 2014. Funny, I could swear I have been ill since 1996, or stopped work in Oct 2010 or thereabouts.

I think there is an income limit that's insanely low, $500/mth? that has to be met inorder to count as your 1st month. Do double check because that is an area that SSD likes to skimp and it makes a huge difference in the amount your owed. I'm pretty sure they won't count time while you are still working and you may need to be not working for a time limit (6 months?), but definatley not 2 years. You already won and that won't change to double check or challenge the starting month/year (if needed). I'm sure there's instructions on how they figure out when to start counting disablity on the SSA website.

Sorry to hear things aren't going smoothly for you. I hope there's a light at the end of that tunnel soon. I know you wouldn't be th first, nor last to "dump" in this thread what was bothering you. But to each their own. It's good to hear from you.

It doesn't take much to get me cross-wired, Mark. Oftentimes, by the time I find the right words and place my post, the question has already been answered by someone with more experience than me, I answer the question wrong (as in Johnnie's case), or the subject has already changed--twice. So usually, when I'm here, I read and "like."

Actually, I've always enjoyed your posts.

And I'm multiply guilty of answering posts that have already gone past the subject. Kind of inevitable given the pace of this group (and others).

I have gotten a bit out of synch, though.

How are things in Canada these days? Have you nailed down regular suppliers, and are they treating you right?

What are you vaping? Are you doing DIY liquids? Winding coils? Are you Sub-Ohm vaping off of car batteries, or going directly to the wall outlet? (And are the wall outlets in Canada 120V or 240V?)

This leaflet sums up where things are in Canada, as far as e-cigs go.

Myself, I'm "dual-fueling" (smoking and vaping). I got my Vision Spinners and 2.4 ohm clearos from a B&M that's about 1-1/2 hours away, and juices I usually DIY, because I have a hard time with PG. There are not as many juice vendors here as there are Stateside, but I've found a few reliable ones. When I do buy nic juice, I try for 100% VG, or nic juice with the lowest concentration of PG (one supplier sells juice at 20/80), and dilute to my needs. I buy concentrated flavourings as I can find them, and use them sparingly.

No sub-ohming yet (wall outlets are 120V here). No rebuilding coils either, but I do successfully dry-burn the ones I have to keep them clean. I've not had to buy juice in a while, because I have a lot of it which I can dilute with VG/distilled water (I can comfortably vape 8mg strength). How long does juice last anyway? I've had a lot of mine since October/13, so I'm curious on shelf life.

Should last at least 1 year I have some marked with exp dates that are 2 years. I hope that helps!

I have been wondering about shelf life too. Some vendors put it at a year, Ahlusion puts theirs at 6 months. I have read in different forums of up to 2 years. And that can change if you are freezing for DIY.

I have found that some of my juices seem to be flavor dependent, over and above the posted expiration date. I have found anything that is soda, that has a fizz or bubbles has a short shelf life for the taste and fizziness. And some of my tobaccos improve past 4-6 months but a few really start tasting - dirty or harsh.

Even a couple of my Ahlusion juices have gone downhill after 3 months; it seems to affect the creamy or sweet ones first for me. If it gets dark and then darker it is not a good long life juice for me. The puddings, custards and stuff with coffee and cream seem to be shortlived for me. I do not vape menthol or mints so have no idea on those.

Tobaccos can go either way, but I have found the better the vendor the longer the life, except for the above mentioned.

Storage also makes a big deal. I have a couple that sat out on my coffee table and did get sun for parts of the day. They seem to have deteriorated more quickly. Cool and dark is the key for storage, and glass. I transfer into glass. I save my glass bottles from other juices and transfer and relabel. I have had several plastic bottles get 'squishy' after a few months. Won't vape them.

I always enjoy reading your posts, too.

Grr. My coils are all crapping out. And child wont go down for a nap so I can't rebuild them.

Get some of the little "dime bags" from a craft store and make several coils at a time when you get a chance. I do that since I drip and work night shift, always have 5-10 fresh (tested) coils on hand and a few extra when I go out.

OK, just found out a guy I work with had a massive heart attack and didn't make it today. Think I might finally be done with the analogs... I hope

Etherealink, I am so sorry to hear that terrible news. Isn't it a shame that it does frequently take something like that happening close to us to show us the light and sit up and take notice.

By the way, welcome to the thread. You are encouraged to stay and talk with us. There is usually someone here just about 24 hours a day. Our group has had several losses in the past months so we do understand how death does affect us all in different ways. Please feel free to talk to us. We can help if you need support with your vaping or smoking or just an ear to listen.

The sharks are out in force with this unusually cold winter a lot of us are having. Went to Home Depot today. Their kitchen island prices are considerably higher than Lowe's (about 2 miles away) and their hardwood flooring guy would not even come down off the ladder to price out 600sf of oak hardwood. Told us from on top the ladder that it was $3sf to take out old hw and another $3sf to install new. They are out of their minds, or the guy is a lazy slug.

When I calm down Monday, I am going to call the Mgr of our HD and get the prices from him. If the pricing is accurate they are gouging the public in this town. All other labor quotes have been under $2sf for take out or install and that is from several contractors and retailers. Gouging. I will hand that quote, if I can get it in writing, to the insurance company and see what they have to say.

I have been watching the Olympics tonight. Love the ice skating and I am surprised that I am enjoying the snowboarding as much as I am.

I am waiting breathlessly for the curling. I fell in love with it last Olympics and can't wait to watch it this year. It is so very quirky. Still am not really sure how they score it. It just seems so weird. How did it come to be? A couple of guys ice fishing somewhere and sliding rocks to see who gets closest? Shuffleboard on ice, or maybe bocci. And the brooms, love it.

I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well today. Is it partly the cold and the excitement? Hope you get back on track quickly.

That selection from Sears is amazing to me. Never thought I would see that.

truly the weather, any changes will set off a plethora of problems physically, I never know what I will feel like hot or cold weather. It just gets much worse with a change and we have been riding a roller coaster here in Florida.
