So, I recently bought a Helios from a local store. A few days ago, I found that one of the screws in my center post was not screwing down all of the way. In trying to get it to tighten down, I somehow managed to strip and completely sheer the screw in the atomizer. I sent VHO an email letting them know about my issue and to see if they would back their product and fix it (or at least give me some advice on how to fix it). I fully expected them to tell me that it was my fault and that they couldn't be held responsible. Well, as soon as I told them my problem, I was redirected to the VHO USA office, and spoke to Greg. What I did not expect was what he told me when we started talking.
There are two versions of the Helios. One has 6 1mm airholes and the other has 4 larger airholes. The 4 larger airholes are specifically made for the US, while the 6 hole model is made only for the Philippines. The fact that I am in the US and have the Filipino model means that the one I bought was stolen. This was a shock to me because I bought it from a local store, not just some guy. Well, he goes on to tell me that a shipment of these were stolen from LA a little while ago and have been popping up at Vape stores up and down the West Coast periodically. Furthermore, these shops are refusing to give VHO the name of the person who has been selling them the stolen goods.
I'm pretty damn ...... that there are people like this in our community. We're having a hard enough time convincing the general population that we're a good bunch of people with a hobby and lifestyle that is a benefit to us. Now, instead of that, the police are going to show up to their shop in plain view of the public, and it'll give one more reason for us to be ostracized.
I am sending Greg the Helios back for him to do whatever he wants with it. I have no interest in owning a stolen product, and have even less interest in supporting a shop that would do such a thing. There are other places for me to go and give my money to.
I'm writing this as a warning to you West Coasters. Keep an eye out when picking up a Helios at a B&M store. Make sure that it is, in fact, the 4 hole model, or else, it is policy for VHO to NOT warranty or repair it if anything were to happen to it. I was told that an ACTUAL dealer of VHO products will be receiving a few US ones, so I will call it a lesson learned and only buy from them, from now on.
