Hi All,

After a week or so of vaping (noob here), I am having slight stomach pains (pangs), like hunger pains. I am using JC Tennessee cured PG. Is this a known SE of PG? I have had no other SE that I know of. I also have been battling bronchitis for a week so some of the known SEs of vaping are being blamed on the bronchitis!! :p

You could be getting too much nicotine or just going through the motions of quitting. Gastroinstestinal upsets are not unusual regardless of what method you use... ........ can however be a sign of too much nic. I have heard reports of ........ blamed on VG as well but according to your post you are vaping PG.

As far as known side effects of vaping, if you do a bit of research you can see that a lot of things that are being attributed to vaping can be attributed to the nicotrol inhaler or just going cold turkey:D

Yeah...there are a lot of SEs and luckily, this is the only one I have so far. I am fortunate enough not to have ........, only the "stomach growling" pangs, like when you are really hungry. I am using the 18mg Juice btw.

Hey Chief you probably ARE Hungry..lol!! The thing about cigarettes is that they suppress appetite by releasing glucose into the blood stream without actually eating a thing. Your body is letting you know that it has not had its regular sugar rush, one of many reasons people gain weight when they stop smoking and crave sugar. Had to get my new-found Oreo fetish under control quickly :p. Used to be able to go all day and only eat dinner. Now I RUN to fight it!!!

Try eating some High GI foods high in fiber and slow to digest.

The feeling of "hunger pangs/pains" could be one of two things, as far as I know (and I'm just a person with some tummy issues, not a doc, so take that as a mere sharing of personal experience). Either you are really hungry because changing to vaping is affecting your appetite,

or,

It could be a symptom of stomach lining irritation and/or increased acidity. Telling which is which is hard, but... Does this happen right after, or, maybe from half an hour to an hour *after* eating? Do you have, for instance, a perfectly filling dinner, and then an hour later feel like you are starving? If that's the case, it's obviously not "real" hunger.

Nic can cause raised acidity, which can cause irritation in your stomach, and possibly these symptoms. I did happen to me, though it seems to be getting better. The body does seem to adust if you don't have any underlying problems. Meanwhile, watch your food and see if taking an antacid helps or not...

You might see about lowering your nic level and experimenting to figure out if that helps.

However, please be very careful with these symptoms. They are nothing to take casually. "Hunger pangs" can indicate the beginnings of an ulcer, for example. If these symptoms do persist or worsen, please go see a doc.

Briar.

Thanks guys. To answer Briar's first question, no. It does not happen "after" eating. As a matter of a fact, if I eat, they go away for awhile. I am not a big eater, so it could very well be actual hunger, however, I never experienced this while on analogs.

This morning, I did not eat breakfast (I never do), I vaped, then the pains started.

EAT!!! nope never will happen with analogs!!! That is one of the weight loss things! I actually have to force myself to grab a bowl of cereal in the morning now and if it gts ast lunch time I eat.. hungry or not. The rest would be unbelievable hunger pangs by dinner time... Was totally new to me!

This could be just another sign of your body letting you know it's healing from years of absorbing toxic chemicals in tobacco smoke, that's no longer there and instead of being stifled/quenched by cigarette smoke, your appetite is renewed and stronger, as your body is getting stronger.

I used to skip meals, especially breakfast when I smoked tobacco. Since I've stopping smoking, I've noticed my stomach will pang until I eat, which is normal and supposed to, I could go hours without eating when I smoked, Not so with my vaping experience. Which is a good thing since tobacco smoking distroys nutrients and vitamins, in the body.

The only symptoms from vaping with e-cigarette's I've experienced, is renewed health, strong lungs, I have regained the ability to take deep breaths, I have an over all feeling of good health & well-being that I haven't experienced in 31 years! of inhaling smoke from tobacco/carcinogen-based, 4000+ chemicals, nicotine cigarettes, that are freely available

I also noticed an increase in hunger, it's like the ability to smell & taste has been healed and I enjoy food and the simple things in life more, like I used to, before I started smoking years ago. Some ppl turned to a cigarette to keep from eating, because tobacco smoke helps kill the appetite/desire to eat.

Unlike vapor, tobacco smoke destroys B & C vitamins, in your system. decreasing the body's overall energy levels, digestion and metabolism rates, and weakening the lungs, blood vessels, and immune system.

Maybe your body is just more hungry now than you realize :)
