I am a finish carpenter, and while working, keeping my sigelei 150 in my pocket to keep it warm isn't an option due to the constant sawdust blowing onto me and hanging thickly in the air. You'd be amazed how much of it makes its way into my pockets. It just fills the intake holes and the tip. I have a small duffel bag I keep in the house nearby, but away from dusty areas. I have been keeping my device in there so it stays clean, and just go to it every now and then. Well, it's cold now, and unless I can put my bag where the heater is blowing (rare because that's where the saws will be) it gets cold, juice thickens, inconsistent performance, yada yada. My brilliant (or so I'm thinking) idea is to get a battery powered heated glove to keep my device in while it's in my bag in some cold location. Am I clever or am I not thinking of something problematic?

I work in the cold year around.

All that you say happens is true.

I just hold my tank in my hand for afew seconds to warm things up. Once the coil warms things up its a non-issue.

Thats normal cold. In afew weeks it will be -20 and that becomes more a matter of how much you can take not the mod.

True, but I've also had experience (and read about cold batteries) that until it's back to room temperature, the device detects higher resistance and therefore knocks up the voltage for the same wattage... and then pretty much at any time while its still cold. It can be up to an hour between uses, and it's like a five minute under the armpit ordeal. That's why I'm thinking keeping a heated glove in my bag might do the trick... since I can't seem to find a small battery powered heated pouch, which would be perfect, but they don't seem to be in high enough demand to be made and sold.

Hey... new idea for ecig merchants. Keep your entire setup warm in the cold weather.

Could you put it in a Ziploc sandwich bag and put that in your pocket?
Another reason I don't really like keeping it in my pocket is because I'm usually running interior trim, I never wear a tool belt because it slows me down and so all my pockets are usually occupied by my phone, pencils, knife, strips of nails. Adding my device in any of those pockets is cumbersome.

My mod is 30 degrees year round inside and whatever the outside temp is. Below zero for months at a time last year.

No real issues of anykind to report as far as cold honestly. I wouldn't, and don't worry about it.

Heat OTOH is a different matter. When I walk outside in the Summer I go from 30 to 100 in the width of a door. This cause all sorts of issues. Leaks, tank dumps and gurgling.

But cold?? Couple seconds on the tank and nothing at all for the mod. Thats for 9 hours a day at 30. 9 hours a day below zero I find a warmer job.

Are you keeping it on you or does it sit on a cold surface someplace?

I have all that plus a radio and mike and a bunch of other crap.

What I need is a Bat Utility Belt!!!

All my clothes and gear weight about 30 pounds. Thats just standing still. I then have to work in that gear. My wife moves my gear and says no wonder your back hurts all the time.

They make some pretty nice holsters.

I'd only worry about it getting too hot inside the glove. Maybe wrapping it in a dish or tea towel then into the glove.??

Thats exactly what I thought of. Metal tends to hold on to heat.

Im of the mind ( because of a long life of experience ) that if something can go wrong, it will. I know that even with a 1 in a billion chance that the electronics in a car can go wrong it will happen to me. Id be scared that the glove box might go haywire and over heat my batteries and .....

My concern would be the accuracy of the temperature control. If you're wearing heated gloves and "something" goes wrong as @anavidfan mentioned, you'll know when your hands get too hot. If it happens to your mod, there's no way for it to tell you without YOU obsessively checking it every 15 minutes.

I know it might look kooky to some people, but when I'm out in the field working I often wear a utility vest because when you're climbing 200 feet in the air, it's easier than lugging a tool bag around with you. The one that I use has a nice inside pocket so I can keep my vape with me...

Just a thought, I know you said you don't wear a toolbelt and carry a good amount of stuff around with you when working...?

The OP concept took a left turn at at Albuquerque in some readers' minds..

OP wants to store his mod in the heated glove, not wear the glove.. :)
