Warning: Do this at your own risk!!

This worked fine for me, but it is at your own risk. I knew when I started I could break something. Luckily I didnt.

My 510 connector was pretty crooked. Probably in the 10 degree range. I took off the clearo and 510-ego adapter. (Using Kangers, they do not fit the well) Put a flat bladed screwdriver down into the ego well and every so gently pushed the 510 straight. Make sure you push on the 510 above the Ego threads so you don't mar them. It took 8-10 retries to finally get it nudged into place. Not going back, I just went a very small amount at a time.

Now it is perfectly straight even looking at it from a "down the arrow" perspective in all rotations. Im very glad I did this as I have a bit of OCD when it comes to things not being straight or level.

I did it and almost broke it. Not improvement here. Indeed, now it's much harder to screw anything. I damaged the border of the well too. I have an AGA T V2, so I tried to screw and unscrew it several times, because it's made of SS, so I thought it could help to shape again the threads of the deformed 510 connector, instead of breaking the treads from the Vivi nova too. It has helped a little, but not perfect. :(

Thinking seriously about buying the SS version. Does anyone knows if the SS version has not this issue and if the threads are made of SS instead of brass? I love the Vamo, and if there were no issue with the tilted threads of the springs, it would be the perfect device!

Cheers from Norway!

My SS has the same issue. Slightly crooked but definitely noticeable. I've been considering fixing it.

Great, and I just bought one of these things. I just noticed both of my eGo's connections are crooked too. Maybe I should just build my own mod.

It's really not a major issue. Mine is off just ever so slightly. It's not even noticeable once you put a tank on. No need to get frustrated before you even get yours. :vapor:

Why not use an old atty/carto screwed into the connector and use it as a handle? You'd have to be careful not to break the threads off the atty/carto, but it would give you some leverage. Also, it's a press-fit. Why not use the atty/carto as a "punch" to tap it straight from the top?

This is just the over-zealous ramblings of my Mr. Fix-it alter-ego paired with a strong mechanical aptitude.

I was thinking on doing that. I have some non repairable clearomizers around and will try to use them. But I'm afraid now after the first failure. Maybe I should buy another before doing more tests ;).

Does anybody knows if the SS Vamo is really and fully made of SS? I'm concerned about buying one and finding another brass made threads :(

You're right, my order is still marked as processing, so maybe I'll just wait and see, lol. I'm hoping it'll be here Wednesday. I ordered it Friday from Smoktek. I think the worst part'll be waiting for the batts to charge and rest before I rip the thing.

Regardless of whether your connection is slightly offset or not, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. I got mine from SmokTek.com as well. For me, it was worth spending a few extra $$$ to go with a great vendor and get everything in one place to save on shipping. In the end, it ended up being about the same price as if I went with 2 or 3 lcheaper vendors.

I hate my slightly offset connection on my VAMO so much that I'm ordering another one that will most likely have an offset connection to have for backup. :2cool:
