strange 510?

i just got a couple 510 attys and they have a weird metal disc on the inside covering everything apart from the wick. whats that about? i havn't broken it in yet but should i expect it to not perform as well? or maybe better? never seen one like this before!

Those are the SLB 510-compatible atties. Some refer to them as clones or "L2's". Quite e a few threads on the forum regarding them and their performance. In short, they're not "identical" in performance to the Joye units.

right, what is the majority view on these attys. i liked the normal 510 and this seems to be giving me a 901ish type performance.

I've only used the L2 510 atties so I cant compair anything else. I've heard they don't get as hot as the regular 510 atties but I get really good vapor, throat hit and taste on mine, and that's on a regular 510 battery. I'm sure this doesn't help much but just wanted you to know.

yeh im experiencing that. its not running as hot and i find im not getting quite as much vapor. Must say i prefer the normal ones but oh well

Interesting, I have one 510 atty that looks odd too.
It has what looks like a metal washer that goes around the bridge.

Normally, I see a bunch of little wires around the bridge, but this looks much neater.

It performs the same as the "normal" atty's though, it just looks different.

I'm not sure if it's the same as what the OP is discribing.

I use both and don't notice any discernible difference at all.
