strange crystals

I am encountering strange crystals with my protank 3 and Vanapple wood juice from Vapor Hut.

At first I thought I set my tank down in some spilled sugar or similar, I tasted some sweet crystal like granules in my mouth , I cleaned out my drip tip and didn't think much of it, then it happened again, I have a clear drip tip and I can see little brown flecks all over the inside.

I cleaned it once again as well as the stem inside the tank and it produced the same results, brown flecks.

This same batch of juice worked fine in a protank 2 with no issues and I had a previous flavor in the protank 3 (different coils) with no issues. I keep my tanks pretty clean.

The coils are brand new using this flavor only and on its second tank refill, this juice is pretty dark. I'm out of PT3 coils or I would see what happens when I change it out using the same juice. That will have to wait till next week when I can resupply.

I'm not worried or anything, I'm just curious what it mite be, bad juice? bad coil? It just seems odd. Has anybody else experienced this?

Sounds like coil gunk to me... Might be the heat making it pop up and fly up through the coilhead when you hit it... No idea if thats the case or not but thats my first guess

Because your drip tip is clear, you will see the results of the condensation drying on the inside of your drip tip. I'm guessing your liquid has a brownish color to it? I frequently use a q-tip on my drip tips when I clean my nova. I use the black tips that come with the nova and don't see the stuff until I clean the unit. I usually clean after about three tanks. My liquids tend to be very clean and coil friendly even though they are NET liquids.

Also (kinda gross but true) your lips shed skin constantly. Some of what you see is that.

The one thing I didn't think to do was burn the coils, Duisf mite be onto something, I'll see if that makes it stop. This juice is very brown and this is the last tank of the bottle.

Wow, I opened up the coil housing and discovered a mound of gunk. I'm not even going to try and clean the coils. The flavor wicks fell apart in a greasy black mess and there is so much residue on the coils it looks like a tobacco pipe LOL.

I guess Ill have to be a little more careful when using this flavor, I'm not giving it up, it tastes too good.

Brown juices tend to gunk up the coils very fast... I barely use my favorite liquid (DIY jamaican rum) because it destroys my coils in a couple days (and thats even with daily dry burns)
So that liquid is only for when i really wanna enjoy my vape

One possibility is that you are using a strong menthol juice and the menthol crystals are forming due to temperature. If that's the case, heat it back up and you should see them dissolve. Body temperature is adequate. If not, I agree completely with the above statements on thorough and ritualistic cleaning of your tanks and drip tips.

I'm on a "cotton-candy" vape at the moment. Luckily, I'm using a VW because I was getting a similar build up until I cranked up the watts. It'll cook off more of the sugar but I have a feeling that my coil is going to be coated in molasses when I'm done. Think I'll put it on some toast.

Not sure what the problem is but Vanapple Wood is delicious. I like Vapor Huts RYD2 as well...tastes like Soft Pretzels! I have notice with Vapor Hut that the juices get really sweet towards the end of a tank. I read somewhere that it may be the sweeteners they're using. I get it with both Vanapple and RYD2. I guess it's possible that the sweeteners dont vaporize as thoroghly and build up on the coil a little faster than other juices do...hence popping and entering the drip tip. All I DO know is I have to break down tanks, dry burn and rewick more often with their juice. I use Kayfuns mostly....about 5-7 mls is all I get before build up. It happens on my genny's too.

I like the RYD2 as well, I'm vapeing that now, both flavors rock.

I am thinking the thick brown juice plus the dual coil configuration on the PT3 on its second tankful just gummed it up too much too fast, It probably would have lasted longer if I had dry burned the coils between tankfulls, I assume that once they start to get dirty it would get worse exponentially. Thats the first time I looked inside a PT3 coil and things are squeezed in pretty tight, I can see how it mite clog a little faster.

I'll probably get more and just drip it in a cardo, I like the Vinapple Wood after dinner rather than all day.

Once again I should have looked at the coils before I posted this as a problem rather than an experience. Its nice to have this forum available.
