Hi - I've just started DIY and my all day vape has been Strawberry Banana that I've gotten from 2 vendors, Juishy.com (out of business) and another one. On my first nicotine order back in May I ordered some strawberry banana flavoring which turns out to be Lorann (from heartland vape) - it smells identical to the ones I've been vaping previous..

My understanding is this OIL is NOT safe to vape at all.. I did notice there is a flavor west that is safe but is it a lot different than LorAnns? I'd be horrified to know I've been vaping Oil and Vitamin E for the last year and a half and not know.. And why the .... would heartland sell it to begin with?

I just poured some of the juice in water as well as the flavoring and there's oil in it for sure.. I feel sort of sick now thinking about the liters of this stuff I've vaped and what I have to throw away.

I wouldn't think Heartland Vapes would sell the Loranns oil based flavors. What color is the cap?

It's white cap in a 4oz bottle.. It says Almond oil as the first ingredient. I also see that it's sold on Wizard Labs and not sure how many others? What got this ball rolling was seeing the warning that I've never seen before that says

"
May be dangerous to vape. Flavor is not water soluble, contains oil etc.

Yep. I checked ELR and it said the same thing. As long as you can choose another flavoring, you might be able to pull out of this.

I'm pretty ...... - I still have 750ml of juice I bought before I started DIY as well as this 4oz bottle. I just don't get why vendors would use this when it's clearly oil soluble.. I've vaped 3-4 liters of this stuff and kind of concerned.. Vendors really have to do better.

LorAnns flavors some times does contain oil but most of the time it doesn't. You just need to read the ingredients. I don't believe the strawberry banana is one of the ones that contains oil, but of course double check. Just putting a drop in water without shaking isn't a valid test, because even PG & VG won't mix in water immediately. On the other hand, there are lots of better brands than LorAnns, so you can check out BCF for these flavors. But I doubt you did yourself any harm with the LorAnns.

Might not be a good gauge since most (all?) flavor retailers rebottle their stuff. They buy 5 gallon buckets or larger, depending on how much they sell of it, then rebottle it.

I just tested a couple drops of my black licorice in water. Most of it sank but it did leave a floating residue (which smell wonderful BTW!). Been vaping it almost a year I think.
Still here. Maybe I'll wake up dead tomorrow?

I read a post here on ECF (from a long time ago) where someone said that not all oils are bad for vaping. Been trying to look for that post but can't find it. It depends on the type of oil it is. That's all I can remember.

I'm guessing this is just a new discovery to me and I've vaped plenty of oils over the decade of vaping? I'm guessing I'm getting worked up over nothing (i hope)..

Probably, but it's a legitimate concern. But Heartland isn't in business to kill you. Switching vendors as another reply suggest isn't going to absolve you of the task of researching what you believe may be safe enough to vape, therefore that doesn't solve the problem. They all sell some flavors with some degree of "oil" in it.

Have you experienced any of these?

I'm not going to tell you that it's "harmless" by any means, but if you've vaped a liter or two of it already and you've not experienced any of the above chronically, I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. Maybe dilute it down to like 25% with other juices to play it on the safer side if you plan on continuing to use it, or as mentioned above - simply use it in your strawberry banana protein/milkshakes. =)

No - I haven't directly experienced those however I have been clearing my throat a lot more but I'm not sure if I can pin that on the liquid as my dog seems to be causing allergies now and usually goes away when I take zyrtec... I'd just rather be as safe as possible. I know vaping isn't "safe" but no reason to take unforced risk... I just wish the vendors would put a warning on those juices that are using oils.
