Strawbery-Banana warning/question

I just wish the vendors would put a warning on those juices that are using oils.

All the the rebottled flavors I have gotten from heartland list the ingredients on the label, from that info you can do your due diligence and research those ingredients on vaping forums and sites (but I warn you, it's going to end up a cluster_ _ _ _ of various answers that are mostly just opinions).

None of these retailers are going to tell you this or that is safe to vape because they can't - both scientifically or legally.

I'm pretty ...... - I still have 750ml of juice I bought before I started DIY as well as this 4oz bottle. I just don't get why vendors would use this when it's clearly oil soluble.. I've vaped 3-4 liters of this stuff and kind of concerned.. Vendors really have to do better.

The reason for this is, and these flavor vendors will tell you, they DON'T sell their products for use in vaping. Even bull city will tell you that. So it requires due diligence to make sure what you order CAN be used in vaping. Don't blame the vendors, you can thank the federal government for that.

That doesn't apply to shops that have "vapes" (or similar terms) in their name lol
It's implied that they are selling everything they sell to vapers for use in vaping. Like heartlandvapes (of course they moved their flavors to Hempnetix now, but that's a recent thing).

Yeah - mine has a ingredient list as well but I didn't think anything of it as I'm really new to DIY - I figured if they are selling it - it's probably ok to vape? Dumb assumption?

What's weird is - when I look at Lorann's ingredient list - PG is NOT listed...

Hard to say. maybe heartland dilutes it to make it more suitable for vaping? But then I don't think Lorann would allow them to reell it under the Lorann brand name if they modify it.

I sent Heartland an email - hopefully they can clear it up. Their label does say "Unaltered" so maybe they have a different version? Either way it has almond oil but I'm not sure is safe as it is a lipid..

That was from blackmarket counterfeit THC Dank pods that contained vitamin E oil. They were usually bought from unreputable sources for a cheap price.

One thing noted was that Bitter Almond oil can have cyanide in it, as almonds have cyanide in them. The thread states that there is some almond oil that doesn't contain cyanide because "the prussic oil has been removed with rectification and washed by alkali" and that synthetic almond oil is safe.

Anyhow, I doubt you'll get much of an answer, if any, from heartland. I also doubt you'll ever uncover the truth about the safety of various oils in vaping. The best thing to do is just stay away from vaping all oils if it bothers you.

If one has a look at the flavor manufacturers websites they do tell you which flavors are soluble and insoluble.

Medicine Flower tells you which of their flavors are water soluble versus oil based (insoluble). https://genuineessentialoils.com/collections/culinary-flavors

LorAnn has a page on ecigs, and like most flavor houses, they do say their flavors are not intended for use with ecigs. E-Cigarette Inquiries | LorAnn Oils

LorAnn also lists, for each flavor, if it is soluble or insoluble. On each flavor page you scroll down near the bottom and there is a box labeled "Solubility" and "click here". That will open up a new window that tells you if it is soluble or insoluble.

A quick search for their Strawberry Banana flavor clearly shows that it is oil based and therefore insoluble. Here: Strawberry Banana Flavor 1-ounce | LorAnn oil

LorAnn's Naturals line is 2X the strength of traditional extracts. In other words they are ultra concentrates where you use significantly less than you would with TFA/TPA, CAP or FW flavors. You usually start with 2-3 drops per 30ml. Much the same as many of the Medicine Flower flavors I use.

I do not know of ANY business association between LorAnn Oils and BT.

FWIW, none of the many hundreds of flavors I own are insoluble. None are oil based. All are soluble.
